after a year of pluggin away at leads and gettin just one, and gettin a bad case of terminal uniqueness, seemed a good idea to glance at the forums to see the way things are....
damn.... this is a tuff racket!!! how am i supposed to retire to that beach house in Newark w/ all this competition?? huh?

anyway......

best post i've seen from "The Pros", is that VO involves a constant exercise and improvement in marketing, something lacking in this old small market DJ/announcer/newscaster...

2nd best post is to go beyond the DJ etc deliveries and develop a wider range of VO talent...

for those 2 "Pro" posts i am very grateful...

V123 was the only marketing tool i was using.. its not going to be enough.. which means i got to...... *sigh* .... work ... AW MAN !!!

i'm fortunate to have hooked up w/ a quality recording studio here in the puckerbrush operated by a fella who wants to expand his services from music to VO, including establishing a roster of local talents.. so, the marketing does seem to be never ending...

so, while i patiently persistantly practice my VO devotions, i'll keep at the trade of painting houses and request that you big timers delete the $50 leads so i can get my feet wet.. Wink

oh, one more thing, comments etc are most welcome on my demos posted w/ the other "Idols", and thanks so much for the insights from beginer and pro alike, they have been and will always be invalueable..

Be Well

Welcome John,

This sponsored site by Voice123 was conceived with the idea of having a place in which to communicate in a more active way, where you can participate in open discussions, submit your inquiries, ask technical questions, suggest new ideas, get critique and feedback on your profile and demos, look for help and help others, find new information related to the industry or just share your mind.

We really want voice over Savvy Forum to be a gathering tool for the voice over community and a great resource for you.
We are hoping to see you around.
