Hi All. I've been reading the posts on this board for a long time and I appreciate the way everyone shares info. I'd like to thank everyone in advance for reading and for any help with this problem.
I have found that when I upload a custom demo to voice123, there is a loss of quality in the audio. It is distorted by crackles and there is a slight echo. I do not hear this through my speakers before I upload, so I am assuming it is in the conversion process that occurs with the upload and I am hoping that by resetting my recording and/or conversion settings I can improve the sound that 123 plays.
I am using Audacity and record at 44.1, 16 bit, mono in a wav format. And when I convert to MP3 (as an export from audacity) it is set at 64 kbps, mono, 44.1
Also, for general information, I am using a studio projects c-1 mic, an M-audio mobil preusb, and a compaq computer.
thanks in advance!

Yes, they do something to it. I contacted the support department and didn't really get much traction with them. I have seen several other people mention it. On the one hand at leat we are all competing on an equal playing field. On the other, this is something that should be easy to fix and they don't seem to want to do it.
Good luck! _________________ 865-686-8925

I dunno. As soon as the tech talk begins, I get this fuzzy feeling behind my eyeballs and.....
But have you tried 128 whatevers when you convert to MP3?
I've never had the problem you and George refer to.
And I know Scott P does his at 128 thingamabobs as well.
Just a thought before my eyes go crossed and my head hits the fvgb;2h1'kolpp;e |

Hello Kathy,
Well what voice123 recommends is to upload on MP3, 64kbps, mono, 44.1. This works fine most of the times, if it still is showing a little echo or distortion try uploading at 128 kbps and later at 96 kbps and choose your best one.
Voice123 is aware of this issue and soon upgrading the playback tool to 96kbps, this way you´ll be able to upload and present a much higher quality product.
Remember that now the tool only allows 64kbps and you can compare this with any internet radio streaming of the same quality.
It does the trick but still not the best.
If you require any more help, feel free to upload a high quality mp3 to this topic and we´ll look in to it, or contact voice123´s customer service, they´ll be happy to help. |

Hey Freddie-
Thanks for the update.
When I talked to support, I asked if you were available. They said you were "The Board" guy now.
I am glad you are aware of it and sounds like changes are coming. _________________ 865-686-8925
