Simon's first commercial!!!!!!

Well well well, what a great day!
It is a great honor to show all of you my first commercial. Keep your eyes sharp! I smash a Kitty and then a bit later a lady fires a fire extinguisher at me!!! Wooohooo!

I thought you carried the show...playing against the general weakness of the other characters, you lent a solid and forceful presence that validated the entire commercial.
Oh, that wasn't you at the computer? Sorry.
I bet it was fun, though.
I'm currently appearing in the top-grossing Canadian movie of all time (Bon Cop, Bad Cop).
In it, I'm in a coma.
On screen for about 4 seconds.
But I was paid for four days of filming. And I get a credit.
Remember, there are no small roles... only smaller paycheques.

Everybody thanks for the props and appreciating the .82 seconds you saw me! I trained heavy for that role I tell ya. Waking up at 4 in the morning for a pre-work out jog, protein shakes.. fish n'egg diet. It's defenitely paid off and seriously there's like a whole planet of girls outside my front door right now.. in various parts of the world. Brad Pitt? Who!? Anyways, hope y'all are having a kick ass day.

That must have been fun to smaash that porcelin frog. Did they have more than one frog to smash in case it wasn't smashed appropriately. Did you have a stunt double or at least goggles when you get sprayed with the fire extinguisher?

Wait what is this...clips of amatuer belly dancers....wow!

George, good question!
Here's the story of THAT day. It started at 2am because I had to work a closing shift at the restaurant I worked at (Hell's Kitchen!.. not the tv show though haha). So I got about 3 hours of sleep! Don't we all know how that feels. So I got up and fired up some music and blasted over to the set. Pulling up to set was THE coolest thing ever. All my life I've seen all those big budget trucks and people part of some production crew and this time it was for me! Went straight over the craft services YUM YUM and had me a hearty breakfast of eggs n'toast. Such a diva, had to have my b fast first. So then waiting for make up I met a fellow actor and chatted him up. Our conversation stumbled into "how much are you making for this" and I answered $500 for the day. He replied with "Oh I'm only making $200.... you must be a principal actor". I so wanted to jump up and say "booya grandma that's right PRIN-CI-PAL in yo face sucka!" But I didn't. Probably wouldn't have gone over too well. Anyhow one of the other actors I met that day is Rob Mconachie (holding the coffee mug and gets tackled) who you'd recognize from an A & W commercial where he's on a date with a girl (cliche a&w) and they have a crappy dinner at a fancy restaurant and then decide they want dessert and go to A & W. Coooool cool dude, very entertaining and made the set a riot. So for the first take we were all sitting down at the computer desks pretending to work and suddenly we all realized that the "prop" post-it notes on the desks all have dirty messages like "you were so good in bed lastnight" or "call me 1-900-spank". Tres funny, our reactions to those were NOT part of the commercial. For my Kitty smashing part I only got TWO chances. Well three if you include the warm up smash. The nerves were ON. I had to get it right. My shot originally had the two guys fall infront of the camera and then it dollied up to me as you see my reaction to them falling. It's amazing how much stuff was actually filmed and how little made it. Guess I'm lucky! Soo through and through that was a kick ass sleep deprived day for me. Hope you enjoyed the story Smile

Oh yeah AND for lunch we had delicious pesto chicken pasta!

Copy your post and put it in a diary so that when you are shooting your fiftieth spot you will be able to go back and see how much fun you had on the first one.

Okay, so speaking of our on-camera gigs, if you get out to see the new flick "We Are Marshall" with Matthew McConaughey, look for me on the sidelines of one of the football games. I was a paid extra to be a sideline photographer. I haven't actually even seen the movie yet, so I have no idea if my scene made it in or not.

And about 3 years ago I was in a series of 3 commercials for WTBS that aired nationwide. $1500 for two days work. Man those were the days!

OK, so my first on-camera acting gig:
It's ten years ago, 6:30 in the morning, and I show up on my first set.
"Jadah," says somebody with a clipboard and a walkie-talkie, "I'll take you to Hair and Make-up." I follow him to a trailer wherein is already being pampered a truly lovely youg lady.
"I'm with you in this scene," she smiles.
"UONNHGHUUH," I respond cleverly.
Anyway, I'm handed a coffee and I sit down to be coiffed and made up.
The director sticks his head through the doorway and nods at the good work being done on the young beauty. They're turning her into an 1865 temptress for the role.
He looks to my chair and says, "No. He's fine. No make-up."
I cannot help but look gloatingly around the room. What skin, I think. I don't even need a touch-up.
At 7:15 we're escorted - escorted! By three stagehands saying into their walkie-talkies, "Talents on the way" - to the shoot.
The lovely young thing takes her place by an ornate fountain.
"And you...you, Jadah, over there," shouts the director, pointing me towards an old-style photographer's camera. "Just put that cowl over your head and point the camera at her. Act like you're shooting her."
Which I did.
For four hours. With only my lower torso in view.
Ah....show business
