Okay, like Phyllis said... the other DoD thread is getting waaaaaaaaaay too long. Let's get a new one going. And just for the heck of it I'll attach one of the ones I did today. Who else got this one?

Excellent, buddy.
You put some ooomph into that puppy.
You may have started a trifle slowly, but got 'er rolling. You may also want to watch those 's'es. They sounded more predominant than usual.
Enjoyed it, though.
But you know me: I don't think a loud round of applause puts any Moosehead in the fridge.

You know Robert for once I noticed the same thing. The Ses seemed a little to pronounced.

I saw Robert's thread went over 500 posts today. That has to be a record.

I'm not sure why the size of the original thread was a problem but, oh well... here's my take of same... (I'm sure it sounds like everything else I've ever done... LOL.)

Here's my two cents. Collin. Can you give me some feedback on the processing on this piece.

John,

Technically wonderful. Nice soundig mic (what model do you have?) Processing sounds good, not to hard, not too light. As for the delivery... I've been having trouble being critical on here because if I knew all the answers, I'd be making the big bucks, but here goes... As is the case with a lot of the demos I listen too, it feels like the emphasis is on the wrong sylables. Or as my high school Spanish teacher used to say... "your accent is on the wrong sy-LAB-le. It's hard for me to descirbe what I mean but if you were to have the word "easy" come up in a script, you might say it this way... "EEEE-zy" because it sounds like what it describes. It's hard to put down in a text post. Maybe I'll do an episode of "voice over Tips" that demonstrates aurally what I am trying to say. What I have said in the past to folks is... think about the words. Think about what you are saying. Think of who you are talking to. Think of your audience as one person, not a crowd. One person that you are trying to convince of something. Now I don't practice this all the time because I am being asked to present an "image" instead of "tell a story" but the Admiral thing was more of a story. In retrospect I could have done a better job, but you are catching me at a point where I am trying a different aproach to "catch their ear." Best I got. Keep at it.

John:
I'll leave the production end to the Wizards, but - if I may - I'll jump in one the delivery note that Colin made.
If you listen to the words 'edge (1st time)', 'command', 'arena', and 'seals' just before "top force etc", as well 'edge' right towards the end, you'll hear a stress or elongation of one particular syllable or letter.
Now, this could be a signature sound of yours, but it does detract from your nice highlighting of specifically important words.
I think that's what the Old Pro heard, too.
Could be just us, though.
Nice read by all, and I'd love to hear the Bad Ol' Dude that beat y'all out on this one.

I hope you are not calling ME "the old pro." (Well, you're half right, I'm old.) It's like when my wife calls me a "dirty old man" and I say... "Hey... I'm not old!) Anyway... Robert... Your comment to me about drawing out the last sylable of a word was the most constructive comment I've gotten so far on this forum. I haven't licked it yet but these things take time. It's even better than the "tight jaw" and "clay like onyx' that Phyllis talked about. I get lost in her "color" sometimes.

Two from the other site. Posted them here so as not to clog up the main thread. Why doesn't Freddie listen to us and create a main heading???

Anyway, any comments are welcome.

Colin-
This one is a little like all those others that I thought sounded similar. With that being said, I am not sure how you bring a lot of vocal variety to that script.
