I was just hoping everyone here still has them after last night.

I watched a guy come unbelievably close to losing his with an apparently defective roman candle and it scared the hell out of me.

Still got all my fingers. I do have one of those fireworks stories, though. A few years back, the radio station I worked for played the soundtrack for 4th of July fireworks at a local park. We had set it up that I would do a countdown for the fireworks (and cue the soundtrack) from the launch area. I was stuck there for the duration of the show, since no one was allowed in or out during the show. While there, one of the 8-inch shells went off in the tube. I was pelted with dirt clods the size of softballs, and a piece of the launch tube landed just two feet from me. Fortunately, no one was injured, and I spent the next twenty minutes hunkered down behind a big rock. We never did something like that again.

AHHH...The 4th of July!

Last night I drove my Japanese car down to the park to watch fireworks made in China and eat Mexican Food While watching a German Band play Ompha Music on their instruments that were made in Vienna all the while drinking wine that was made in Italy

God Bless America!

And if your fireworks display was like most, they no doubt accompanied the finale by playing the 1812 Overture, which was written by a Russian composer to commemorate his country's defense against a French invasion and has nothing to do with the war between Great Britain and the fledgling United States, nor anything connected with America.

Don't get me wrong folks.

Diversification is what America is all about.
I wouldn't have it any other way!

But...Independence?

In 1776 maybe...

But now?

Independent from what?

Live in a foreign country for a while. Not just visit, not as part of the military, actually be a foreigner trying to make a living somewhere else.

You will find out.
