Clinton!!! Yeah!!! Congratulations!
I am so happy for you and I know how good you must feel to have your own website now.
It's always a work in progress so be patient with yourself, but I really admire you very much for making this happen, and getting on with your career in a serious way. It's just the tip of the iceberg and what a wonderfully great start. Just think where you'll be five years from now? It's thrilling isn't it?
BRAVO!!

Nice effort there Clinton.
hmmm, I think jsgilbert.com just has a sign that says under construction.
Perhaps I can go in and spruce up the under construction sign. Maybe add some tinsel or a blinking light.
Oh - you kids and your internet. I'm going to go nap now. |

Thanks for the nod this way JS.
Ps: Might want to look at your site again . . . I couldn't bring up nothing but a 404 page and a candle maker in AU under jsgilbert.com. However, the guy at jsgilbert.voices-com is stinkin Awesome _________________ If the world ever joins together as one voice . . . they need to make sure they are copying mine hahahaha

Congrats Clinton!
Yeah, I was so excited to have a website, but then I didn't do squat with it. I need to do all the SEO stuff and get it moving. Luckily, I haven't had to depend on it for work lately.
Mine is a cheapy godaddy.com site, so it's nothing special. Here's my link. http://toddvoice.com/ |

Thanks John.
I'll probably revamp the whole thing and actually update it before I do all the SEO work on it. |

thank you Todd. I like your site. I too use Godaddy.com. I am not adverstising my site yet because I know that I don't have the demos and soforth that I need. I wanted to own the space for the future and at least put something up there so when I make contacts or friends and I give them my info it do have the Gmail thing as my email address. As it stands right now I have all of my mail forwarded to my PDA for this account so if I ever do get an email, it is will not be missed. _________________ If the world ever joins together as one voice . . . they need to make sure they are copying mine hahahaha

Clinton, one thing I'd suggest changing right away is get your e-mail address off there or you're going to be getting 400 spams a day. Have either a form (like you do) or make the e-mail link either a graphic that says clinton<at>clintonnobles-dot-com so the spambots can't read it, or a link that says "e-mail me" and when you click on it it goes to your e-mail. Otherwise you're going to never wish you had it on there. _________________ Scott R. Pollak

Hi Scott ~
First of all, I ADORE your beautiful website. It's so well done, gorgeous, inviting and conveys your message/voice incredibly well.
Would you mind expounding upon the email address on one's website comments in your previous post? Should we not have our "actual" email address on our websites and does having them spelled out, encourage spam?
Could you please elaborate for me?
Thanks!

Spammers send their nasty bots out to crawl the web looking for any and all e-mail addresses they can find, wherever they can find them. Whenever the come across one, they add it to their list and start bombarding you with crapola.
That's why you don't want to post your e-mail address in a message here on this forum. You can do it by spelling out the special characters as in "bucket of spam dot com (no spaces)." But if I were to display that as an actual e-mail address, it would be no time before the mailbox would start filling up with Dentist Directories, Travel Super Buys, Costa Rican real estate, penis enlargement, Rebate Processing, lonely Russian girls, and all sorts of other bogus offers.
If you need to convey your e-mail address to someone on this forum it is best to do so through a Private Message.
We once had a discussion about the relative ease of determining who owns a website. By way of demonstration, somebody looked up my info and posted it (including the e-mail address and phone number I used with my URL registrar). It was a perfectly innocent posting, with no malice intended, but within days I started receiving unwanted e-mails at that previously undisclosed address. I immediately realized that those spams were the direct result of one single message on the Savvy Forum, contacted the guy who posted the info and asked him to delete it, which he promptly did. I still get the occasional rogue e-mail offering cheap mail-order Viagra, but the junk has largely died down, if only because my address did not stay posted for long.
My own ISP used to have a mail form that I used as the "Contact" page on my website but they eliminated it when they "upgraded" their web hosting tools so I had to switch to a "Mailto:" command on that page. That still requires that my actual e-mail address be embedded in the HTML code for that page, so it is susceptible to being crawled. Fortunately (or unfortunately, as the case may be) the page rank on my Contact page is virtually nil, so it does not get visited by bots as often as the pages of this forum, or even the front page of my own site. So I am relatively safe for now. _________________ For more voice over demos, my life story, and other foolishness, please visit my website at www.leegordonproductions.com |
