OMG you crack me up! The "beehive of activity" started me going, then "giving Mayor White the business".... too funny....
That was terrific!
Thanks!

Deby - Hummmm, well a bit more than that... VOX - a little compression, echo, slapback, EQ, then a little more compression, then SFX - (projector), then an acoustic impulse (Room) final EQ and widening.... on the background music. Finally mastering levels to -3 DB (Kinda of like baking a cake - from scratch)

Deby - Numbers are meaningless - Use your ears! I use a (real- physical) compressor - an LA-2A - ...with tubes.... plus DAW plug-ins and my ears to get the sound I want. Compression/EQ is very source specific. Rarely will I use a compression ratio greater than 2, 2.5:1 preferring to compress sources multiple times a little at a time... with apppropriate makup-gain. I don't slam a signal through a single compression setting...

Thom, I try to take the same approach....process just a little at a time until it sounds the way you want it to.
Though I must admit, I did hit the EQ pretty hard on my demo!
Cheers!
Steve

As discussed in other threads on this forum, I despise that hack pitchman, Billy Mays. Therefore, when a Smartcast lead arrived this morning looking for a "Billy Mays type" (the lead was labelled "TV Radio Yell and Sell Screamer Needed"), I thought long and hard about whether to dignify the lead with a demo. But I swallowed my pride and went ahead and did it. Now I can't look myself in the mirror.
P.S. It got a 5.
Another lead came in looking for a simulated political candidate to hawk automobiles.

Lol....hang your head in shame, Lee!
I can just about hear your face turning several different shades of red during that one.....you deserved a 5!
Just one question:
Who is Billy Mays?

Billy Mays is a slack-jawed, screaming huckster whose bearded gob crops up about every 3 minutes on American late-night TV hawking "miracle" products that promise to relieve us poor Yanks of the drudgery of removing blood stains from our clothing, retrieving parcels from high shelves, chopping vidalia onions without bursting into tears, removing worrysome dings and scratches from the doors of our automobiles, sharpening the knives we were told never needed sharpening, digging garden weeds with our electric drills, and of course scrubbing the nasty rust stains from our toilets.
Having no exposure to Billy Mays is reason enough for all non-Americans to count their blessings.

Lee:
Have you noticed that Billy Mays is now hawking health and disability insurance policies?!! (no joke) It's a free country, but anybody that's sappy enough to buy a couple dozen curved sewing needles for 20 bucks (Hercules Hooks) deserves whatever they get if they go for the insurance policy too.

| I've also noticed that the "1 A Tundred" guy is tagging spots with Billy. All we need now is the cast from "Head On" to join in. And that'll be the cue for the horsemen of the apocolypse.

So I popped out of bed this morning and kept myself busy with a few auditions. Mossy Nissan, Songpond and Liberty Training Institute. On Mossy they said to be creative so I gave them a Kennedy voice as an alternative. LTI needed an upgrade to their current video, more enthusiasm in the VO and the music. It would be edited to fit the video with insertions of 'real students', my music is just a suggestion. I submitted produced and non-produced on both Mossy and LTI. BTW, the "Yes We Can" in the crowd is all me, with effects of course. I hope they at least take the time to listen.
