LinkedIn, MySpace or Facebook for voiceovers? Your opinions?

Hanging out at voice classes, vo web sites or vo seminars may help you develop some aspects of your craft, provide you with some missing industry details, show you just how varied the industry is, help you make some friends or even verify that you'd be better off not persuing a career in voiceover. LinkedIn, Plaxo Pulse, My Space, FaceBook, and most of the Ning sites aren't designed for voice actors. Swooping into them and putting up a page is rarely going to get you anything. Becoming an active member of a community and contributing will. I have always advocated this in real life - "be a problem solver, because there are far too few of these in life. While there are far too many voice actors."

It's Jay Conrad Levinson's site and it's all about Guerilla Marketing. His newest books and articles deal a lot with social networks and internet marketing.

I belong to several social networks and I could probably lecture for 4 hours without a break on their value now and for tomorrow.

I actually have two MySpace pages. One is personal and the other is strictly for listeners of the radio station I work for. I haven't taken the time to create one strictly for VO work and promotion. Most of the folks at this forum who are on my friends' list are on my personal page. Max, you're already one of them.

Well Santa.....I mean Lee.....I do prefer older men.....(Father Figure Complex I suppose).....and the 50's somethings and even 60's somethings hit on me on yahoo personals.....but I'm really looking for someone who either is or looks like they are in their 40's or 30's.......

Ofcourse if I state that I'm on a site for business and networking purposes 10 emails per day of "Hey babe wanna have cyber sex? Or "What are you wearing" Is just too time consuming to deal with......so I get a lot less with a photo of my massage table instead of a photo of my face.

Ofcourse If I'm on dating website I expect to get hit on. Wink

I also have a Guru.Com page and I actually landed a regular client from it. I'm not a paying member there, but I guess I just answered the right ad and nabbed one.

I've never even messed with Facebook. I think I did start a linkedin page. I think? Or did I?
