Brainstorm on this weird down-sampling problem I'm having? While recording in adobe 1.5. The spectrum grid shows Its recording fine and perfectly. but, when i play it back. It sounds like my sound quality is being down-sampled on playback. Sounds like its playing at 80kbps, -- 32000 hz... But all other files i play are perfect sound quality, and it only happens when i record and play it back, and even when i record. The output quality in studio is perfect. Any ideas what could cause this?

I could really do with some advice.

Keith,
not running Audition myself, I can only guess, ok? But these remarks caught my attention:

...which made me wonder if you somehow have configured Audition to record in a low sample- or bitrate...?? But then again, this was probably the first thing you checked... right??! Right???

Anyways, it doesn't sound like a soundcard-issue, because then all your files would sound bad...

Hi Keith - This is a long shot, but you're not using a pro soundcard to record but inadvertanly selecting the PC's internal soundcard to playback are you ?

I've recently upgraded to audition 3. But the problem now only resides on 1.5 and not on audition 3.

Alan, first thing i checked ! I was wondering if my rig was wired and setup wrong as I'd only recently changed my studio around and thought that was the problem. But since the problem only happens with audition 1.5, yes, i could use audition 3 but i have many settings and prefer to record in 1.5.

Any clews whats causing this? I've checked the options and everything looks OK. Perhaps both versions are conflicting? Has anyone run both versions simultaneously?
