I thought I would share what I never expected to happen.
A creative director at a production house in Ohio went foraging through Voice 123 and found a male voice he liked.
It didn't stop there.
He hit the button that makes us uneasy -- the one that says "hear similar voices."
Well it makes me uneasy because there, on my V123 promotional page is a way to find all my competitors who, theoretically, sound like me. Pick one of them and I get nothing.
But it was just the reverse this time.
The man tells me he found in excess of 100 voices that way...then narrowed it down to 10 to play for a client.
Now, that's reasonable odds as compared with say 100 auditions.
This time, the client picked my demo -- and it led to an immediate gig with the possibility of more to come.

That is very interesting - I too have felt a bit strange about that button - but your experience here simply illustrates what we really know if we've been doing this a while...that this is a subjective business - we do not know "the voice in their head" for a particular project.

Anyway - congrats!

You folks are great -- like a real community.
Reminds me of the folks I would see often at L-A workshops, auditions and charity events.
I never had the same experience in NYC -- though no complaints about the people here.
