I was just hired by a voice123 lead to do a voice message. He wants it on both his cell and his office. He is sending me instructions on how to get into it...question...is there a way to get the mp3 audio file on the recording? I have skype..is that something I need? Help? _________________ Marilyn Taylor

I don't know, Marilyn.... sorry!
But it made me wonder - as VO artists, are we supposed to deal with, or even know these things?? I mean.... shouldn't we just deliver the soundfile, and let the client worry about the rest?
If someone asked me to do a voice-over for a call messaging system, fine... I'd be happy to record anything they like and mail it in whatever format they like... but from there, it's the client's problem.

I see your point but this guy sounds like he has a lot of clients who might want the same thing so if I can figure it out once...it could lead to repeat business.... _________________ Marilyn Taylor

Well, the cell phone is a yes. You would deliver him the .mp3 file and he would download it to his phone.
Or, for both systems (cell and office) once you have the rights buttons to push, you call and play it over Skype-Out (you will need to make sure you can actually play audio through your sound card and downline into the phone).
Remember, PSTN (normal telephone service) quality and Skype quality are uniquely different, so the audio file heard through the cell phone or office phone will not be the same as you hear through Skype.
Any questions? Drop me a line or call on Skype I will walk you through the process.
Toodles
Frank Frederick
