Hi guys,
OK wel I have been looking for a decend mic and found a
"PCM6100 Professional Stereo Condenser Microphone +stand" for £4.99??
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PCM6100-Professional-Stereo-Condenser-Microphone-stand_W0QQitemZ130066713169QQihZ003QQcategoryZ15198QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I am not much up on mics - and it doesnt appear to be a brand make but that doesn't bother me too much, and the company appear to have several and have great feedback.
However will this mic fit into the mic port on my pc? Do any and all mics fit into one standard slot? Also do mics in general come with a cord to plug into the PC/stereo/whatever -or do you have to buy them seperately.
Even if ts past 18 mins if you could let me know that would be great - as I think the seller has a lot that wont sell so I can still buy it afterwards.
Cheers!!

| OK Luke - nobody else is saying it --- so I will. Do not walk away from this mic - run! You could buy this mic or a nice order of fish & chips - go with dinner. |

It's kind of like Cedric "The Entertainer" - If they make a big deal of telling you how "Professional" it is - it probably isn't. It's a $10 mic. Here's an idea - skip the fish-n-chips once a week for 2 months and get a Blue Snowball USB mic for $99. It's a good sounding USB mic great for starting out.
Can I get some help here??? |

LOL I think someones been watching those Barclay Card adverts too much George
Wow you can get a USB mic?? Thats awesome!!! That would be so much better then worrying about getting a compatible sound card and all that other rubbish.
Does it come with a stand or anything?

Todd, followed the link, Blue looks cool, would this be a suitable mic for me, I currently have an ADK large capsule condenser mic, and reading the forums it seems I should have at least 2 mics.
Also, would you say the Blue travels better than the one I have.

| Lynne - I'm certainly not a microphone expert - but I know what I like. I just recently got a Snowball as a travel mic, and I like it just fine - but would never replace my studio mic with it. I have heard that several "big-time" voices use this as their travel mic as well. As far as how many mics to have goes - I've got around 10 - but I am a freak - I like to play and since I don't fish or play golf, this is my indulgence. In my opinion you need ONE mic - the one that works for you. |

Thanks Todd, sounds like the Blue is the one to travel with, and at that price, can't go to wrong.
As to how many mics, I guess if you have a fetish for mics the skys the limit! |
