Picky is not the word I'm looking for, but I can't find it right now and I didn't want to use the word "whore" in the main title of this posting.
I got two leads this morning that were both very political in nature. One to the left and one to the right. After reading the background and story line I decided to delete one of the leads without responding because I didn't agree with the politics of the copy. I do a lot of political ads (in season) but I'm very particular for whom I will do them.
How about you? What's more important: Ideals or Bacon? |

Todd:
I'll take bacon, unless it's way, way out there, like the Ohio Cat Boilers Society or something. Did a thing a couple of months ago where I was the M.C voice introducing the categories for an x-rated internet award show.
'Best Tranny Video' and 'Best Multiple Partner Performance' were two of the tamer ones.
I'm a voice.
As long as what you're doing - and your payment - is legal, I'm in.
Voice On!

Robert - Trannys, multiple-partners and Cat Boilers are all OK with me - It's Al Gore I can't bear. |

I don't do voice work as my major "bread and butter". There are just too many mouths to feed in my home. If I had to dedicate all of my efforts to a career in voice, I would probably whore myself.
As things are right now, I will not read for an advertisement that stated a different political or social view than I have. It just seems a a little bit like living in hypocrisy.
I do not feel as strongly against reading for a product I don't use but I will not do a physical presentation unless I believe in what I'm saying.
"Living in Hypocrisy" will be the title of my novel whenever I get to writing it. I was thinking of a Harlan Ellison style. What do you think?

My beliefs, morals and religious stance are priorities in my life. I, personally, seek to honor God in EVERYTHING I do. If a spot conflicts with my personal views, I don't do it. Plain and simple. Otherwise I'm a hypocrite. My life has been blessed and I choose to think it's because I've stuck to my convictions.
I also understand that these beliefs are personal and I don't impose them on others. |

Go Scott!
Although I'm not as religious, I fully agree. Gotta have standards (IMHO).
Glad to hear about your "non-imposition" stance. Same here. If someone asks me, great - I'm happy to share my world view. Otherwise, whatever they believe is fine by me, as long as it doesn't interfere with other people's lives, that is...

Well I had an interesting one today...I was recording a read and my daughter walked in and asked why I was using a word we don't use in our family. I hadn't even noticed it.
It was marginal but a common word in the lexicon of today but still we don't use it.
I felt about two inches tall but at the same time, very proud of my daughter. It reminded me of the standards that we keep and hold and I will scrutinize content much more closely in the future. _________________ 865-686-8925
