as long as we are talking about promotional logos...
Here are some I have used in the past -- and sometimes in the present for various promotional materials.
Most reaction to the Altoids style package.
The post card style backfired the first time I used it because it was oversized and some recipients were asked to pay the extra postage to accept the cards -- oops!

I suppose, if you wanted to go to the expense, you could buy a case or two of Altoids, print up your labels and stick them on top of the existing ones, and distribute the mints to potential clients. I doubt very many of them would throw away free candy.
Or is that what you did?

Yep... I purchased them by the case and handed them out at production studios and when there were other opportunities.
Right -- no one turned it down.

Save for the altoids, I wasn't thrilled with any of those logos.
You know, you can get the tins printed cheaply, right? Looks a lot nicer (I've done it in the past).
*sighs... back to dealing with my own logo woes, lol*

I've been toying with the idea of playing off of the Thomas English Muffin thing...any ideas?
A Nook and Cranny Cheers,

The J card (middle left above) looked more impressive than it does on the page.
With the equipment I was using back in the 90s, the blue printed electric bright, and my name on the spine stood out when the casettes were stacked together.

J-Card? Wow! Thanks for the blast from the past. I'll bet there are quite a few here who've never even heard that term.

Sid,
Awesome idea; yeah--it's you alright... FWIW (and this is splitting hairs), I would have used a more weathered pair o' boots with that straw hat; either that or spiff the hat up with those snappy boots. But that's quibbling, really. Great logo.
Here's mine (a jpeg from my web site voiceontap.com, actually); it's also "working"

That is pretty cool David...you don't happen to do a Barney impression from the Simpsons, do ya?
Cheers *brrrrrrp*

Art, logos, designs, websites, etc. are all highly subjective and purely a matter of taste, so one man's Picasso is another man's Warhol. One of the best folks around and helping voiceover talent really develop excellent branding is Nancy Wolfson.
Michael: The top two left ones forced me to really scrutinize to see what they were. A logo generally gets a very quick, fleeting glance, and you know what it is, or what it represents, like the McDonald arches, or the Shell Oil Company pectin, or even Sid's boots & hat. Honestly, those dark cloudy face things... at first I thought it was cat barf. I'm not being funny here; I had to look at it rather hard to figure out what it was.
David: I'm a former web designer, and while your design is awfully clever, it's really busy. It takes a fair amount of work for the viewer to figure out what's what.
And hey, this is just MY subjective (NOT objective) 2 cents worth, folks.

Well said Scott. Like the music business and all performing arts (voiceovers included)....it's a damn crap-shoot. Follow your heart, do what you do, market as best you can and hope for the best.

Just for clarification...
Those images served me well in the 90s as Jcards and post cards but I haven't actually used 'em for years
I like the beer taps web site -- they are very engaging -- but I agree keep it simple is best.
