Hey everyone,
Just got an itch to sit down and flex the chords tonight and I thought I would share the results.
I was inspired when I went to Bob's website www.bobbergen.com and listened to his demo and I wanted to see if I could mimmic some of his voices and see if I could rock some other impressions.
I'd definetely like to hear your thoughts and input. PRESS PLAY NOW OR ELSE!!!!!
ps. recorded in a biiiiiiig open room tonight with lotsa bouncy walls

That was quite impressive. Are you NOT Hank Hill???? Omigosh. I had no idea you had that range inside you. Get thee to a major animation studio audition. I look forward to saying "I e-knew him when..."
Thanks for the best start to any day almost ever.

Simon, my FAVORITE, (boy, that word doesn't look spelled right in caps...)
Anyway... you my dear son have such a vast range! Now, not all of your impressions were spot on (just a couple the tiniest bit off) but they don't have to be exactly on because you can turn them into someone else-- you may have already done that. I'd be surprised if you didn't 'cuz I think you have strong instincts with inspiration. And that's exactly what this exercise can do-- it can inspire you to find new and even more characters.
Barney, Napolean, Golem, Hank Hill, Double D, and Ed stood out most for me. No fair on the last two-- but I'm surprised that your Double D edged out your Ed. Now I've got a crush on you because of your Double D. I'll say "Eeeeewwwww!!!" for you. Just shake off the creepies.
You've got so many people inside you, you're creative and frenetic-- I LOVE IT!!! What a wonderful excercise for you but the thing is... I have a feeling this wasn't much of a workout for you. Kinda like a huge muscle-man doing a workout with 3lb dumbells. I think you're just scratching the surface. When you dig deep it's gonna be mind-blowing-- not that this already hasn't been because it has.
Great things are about to happen, aren't they?

Simon,
I normally listen to demos and make my comments before reading anyone else's comments--it's how I do my weather forecasts too--make my own first then compare. So I'm going to say right off the bat that you have some serious skills. Now, of course, I'm a relative newbie but I can tell your talents are going to take you far. Those impressions were spot on in my opinion. But even more, you have such a great range to develop your own characters that I very much look foward to hearing how your career progresses.
Keep up the fantastic work Simon!
Cheers dude,
Cameron

Simon-
I'm already a fan of your "normal" delivery... you've got this real cool niche voice thing going on. There's several auditions that come through where I think, "Oh man, Simon would be perfect for this!"
I'm all the more impressed with your range after hearing this demo. There are some great sound-a-likes in there. I'm looking forward to hearing some Simon originals.

Wow! Just.... wow!
I'm normally bored by impression reels, with the exception of Rajiv Hassan, who is truly gifted, but this is incredible, Simon. I had NO idea you could do all these! Bob Bergen had better be looking over his shoulder!
LOVED Gollum the best, I think, out of the many great ones you did.
You rock, bro!

Thanks guys!
Deby - I haven't seen very many character gigs come through here. Although the Mulligan Monkey one may be mine considering I got 5 stars on my audition yesterday, still no word from them yet though. And I do have an ongoing gig with streetblast.com as their mascot Mack which I bagged from here. He's a bad ass. Also there was that mischevious kid we both auditioned for back in December. So they do come through here, just not as often as I'd like. Though I'm not holding my breath waiting here, I've got a great agent here with excellent connections in Vancouver. I've been averaging 2 juicy pre-lay character auditions a month from her since signing in August. Just haven't caught any of those big fish yet!
Melba - Yes I am related to Hank Hill! He's my 2nd cousin removed!!! j/k Funny story there, I was walking to the bus the other day and I was going through voices and he came up in my mind so I kinda just gave it a whirl and from what I heard myself saying in his cadence I thought might be a match, so that'd be why I recorded him.
Once again, thank you, thank you and thank you Scott for not being bored out of your skull!
Now I really need to get some new characters created!
