Hello,

I'm Carl and I live in Charleston, South Carolina. CAVA stands for Carolina Association of Voice Artists and my mission is to identify voice talent in the Carolinas and to increase industry awareness of that talent and of course to network. There are plenty of us but we are a long way from the really big biz hubs like NY and LA.

If you'd be interested in joining that would be great. Right now there are no dues. In fact there are no dues, newsletters, websites etc because it's just little 'ol me.

Hi Carl,

I know your city so well. I honed my craft at WHTK 99.7 in the late 80s thru the mid 90s. I remember being the only station that could get into Charleston after Hurricane Hugo. I lived in Hilton Head for 10 years and I spent many a foggy night with Edwin and Darius at the Music Farm.

Good Luck,

Hey Scott,

If you were in the radio biz then you might know Mark Cardnella. He's been a VO locally for a long time.

If you're still in the Carolinas and would be interested in helping me get wheels on my CAVA project that would be great.

Hey September,

I'm sort of looking at the Carolinas, hence the name. However, since you have tons of skills how about an advisory sort of thing?

Charleston is a tough VO market because there aren't any coaches, classes or studios specializing in VO. Atlanta is the hottest regional market that I know of. I'm actually considering finding a VO studio in Atlanta and dropping the big bucks for a really good demo.

I'm pretty good at the reads but culling out material and putting together a demo is not my strong suite.
