I need an objective critique of my demo. Also want to know if the quality of the recording is better than average.

Very nice and what a nice resonance (sympathetic vibration of your vocal cords).. I believe are the terms used. So, without headphones on and the volume at an appropriate level.. what a nice listening experience!

Now, knowing you’re asking for a reason and that you want a degree of depth in the responses; I put the headphones on. I do that with my own demos.. the real important ones anyway. (Which is about 95 % of the time)

You and I must be careful of the dreaded “mouth-noise syndrome”. I literally go back and edit my mouth movement(s) noise out.. or try to.

That script you used is/was a very popular script. Did you audition with that demo? Did you get a rating on your demo, in your outbox?

Ron,

I agree with James about the quality of our voice as being very good. The recording is not so good though. I hear quite a bit of hiss, as though it was a cassette tape rather than a digital recording, if it is in fact an all digital recording. If you are recording your own stuff, you need to find the source of that noise and deal with it. Your voice deserves a better demo than that one.

You asked about the quality of the recording, but if I may say, to my ear your delivery came off as though you were somewhat disinterested in the subject and copy.

The best advice I can give is the same that I was given. Have a listen to a good measure of demos posted on V123. Focus on those that are similar in voice type to yours, listening for delivery and audio quality. Then, draw your own conclusions.

Thanks for posting!
