Hello All:
This is my first try at joining a forum, so here goes. I was a voiceover artist in the states for over twenty years. I moved to London a few years ago, and am just about to jump back in and prowl around for an agent. Just thought I'd see if this commercial demo packs a punch or not...
Thanks very much for your feedback.

Lucy - obviously a pro. After listening once with my producer ears, I heard the same basic mic proximity, push, style and pace all through - the last spot was a bit softer.
There is a big demand for that softer less projected sound. I'd look for a bit more variety in pacing and attitude to help bring the demo up to the top of the pile.

I had a few minutes to cruise through the Critique section so I took a quick listen. A tip I got a while back was to tighten up the transition between spots--leave out as much music as possible so it doesn't disrupt the flow in between the parts that matter--the voice portion.
I really liked the last three spots you had on there, in particular the last one (Mackenzie). It was lighter and pleasant--in my opinion that should be near the front to vary it up a little right off the bat. Just my .02
I may check back later...good luck.
Cheers,
Cameron

Connie and Cameron:
Thank you both very much. I think you're absolutely right. I'll be heading into my studio in the next few days to remix. I have two pieces that ought to provide the contrast you've mentioned.

P.S. I'm beginning to see the beauty of forums.

Great tone, Lucy: a sterner Kathleen Turner.
You've got the stuff, no doubt.
I found the bed about 30% too loud; it distracted from your winning listen-up, no-nonsense delivery.
(...and oh, you poor women; you're hearing some solid pros jumping into the fray the last few days.....)

I'm not even going to bother adding yet more accolades onto what is a killer demo (it is), but instead slightly threadjack by saying that the OTHER THREAD I started in "General Chit Chat" about whether or not to post your picture on your site applies not at all to Lucy. This is an obvious instance where her flattering face only adds to her prosaic pipes.
Lucy, you got NO 'splainin' to do!

As someone who's taken a bit of a break from the business it has been very beneficial to hear from you that I seem to still be competing. So I'm sending a sincere thanks for the confidence boost.

I listened for less than a minute and concluded that you ought to be very busy doing what you do. Could split hairs over the demo but there really is no point. People will buy you within about 10 seconds.

Hi Philip,
I was hoping I might hear from you. I've read some of your contributions to other forum conversations. Very shrewd. (Very amusing, too.) I value your comments because they come from someone who knows the UK market, and because I listened to your demos yesterday. Wit. Finesse. Golden pipes. I hate you.
