Cool Lori, this is exciting.
I hardly ever respond to these things but your Commercial demo is unbelievable. Very, very good. I can't think of one spot that I didn't like. I would cut it down though. It will be hard to figure out what to cut but I would strongly recommend getting closer to 1 minute because I would hate for a seeker to lose interest.
The Promo demo, not so much. I thought it opened a bit weak and it didn't really grab me by the throat. The FX and everything sound pretty right on, so I am sure it could easily be made to really sparkle with some tweaking.
Dang though. Great voice.

Wow, Erik! That means A LOT coming from you. Thank you! Both demos are about 1:30, but the producer told me that wouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure who to believe!! I cut the demos to 1:00 for my V123 profile, per the limits set.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Wow... Lori... I'm as agape as Erik with the exception that I loved BOTH of them!
Man, this is good. Your promo demo sounds just terrific. There is so much going on here that is RIGHT. You show a lot of professionalism. If you didn't voice those spots, I sure believed you DID. Good range, nice pacing, good mix. Great opening piece. I'm really glad I'm not a female talent having to compete with that. This is one of the best I've heard here.
I'm listening to the commercial demo now and I'd just say "ditto" to everything I said above.
This is terrific. Just terrific! Man you're GOOD!!!
OH BTW: You do NOT have to cut your demos on your V123 page here to 1:00!! I have some approaching 2:00 on my page that play just fine. Put both of these out there as is!

Scott,
Good to know--the full-bodied versions are going up on my profile as soon as possible!
Thanks for taking the time out to listen and respond.

...and then the Curmodgeon arrived!
In the face of the early reviews, I was looking forward to finding fault, Lori.
But I cannot.
(Except that my attention waned after the Commercial Macy's spot. I mean, it's a lot of great stuff...but I can only handle so many Mooseheads, too. To me, the Ambient CR, for example, added nothing but seconds.)
They are ultra-solid, and reflect a dynamic, versatile, and charming VO.
Kudos!
Vaunt On!

It's fine to have longer demos for your own website, but for someone with your obvious talent, you should cut it to :60 or less and bribe someone who is repped by a major agency to either take your demo directly to the agent or at least write a letter that can go in your package. They want :60 seconds or less (at least from my conversations with the agents themselves or talent who are repped in a major market.
There are lots of places to cut. The Macy's spot for example has a natural edit point about halfway through.
Great stuff Lori.

Lori...great demo!
What strikes me most is that all of the reads are right in your sweet spot. Many people try to put too many different "styles" on their demo, then the seeker doesn't quite "get" your specialty.
Your demo is focused and an "in demand" style. I hope it gets you many jobs.

Thank you Robert, Connie and Bill!!
I so appreciate your responses! I will work at cutting them to :60 and send them out here in LA first.
I want to give a BIG shout out to the mastermind demo producer Chuck Duran, who directed me, helped find that "sweet spot" and put it all together. I couldn't recommend him more highly!
Thanks for the good wishes--I'll let you know what happens...
