It's not too difficult. In fact once you get it up, it gets quite addicting. I just had a video get in the most watched list of the day, and after several months of posting vids, it made me pretty excited.

Basically you need a file that is like basically compressed (like an MP3) with video and audio with it. Any video software can export these types of files.

Deby:

I just read this thread tonight, maybe for only the 2nd time ever....and I have to say, "Great job!!!" I agree with some of the other comments here: I don't really hear anything that needs pitch correction in the lead vocal....there might be a few places with the supporting vocals that might need touching up a bit but I think you pretty-much nailed it!

I do agree wholeheartedly with Claire that the mix needs some work. Having spent a great number of years playing music (live & in studio) as well as working in various studios (engineering & producing) I'd love to have a chance to work on it for you (gratis, of course!) so if you want, give me a shout. I have some extra time at the moment (which is why I've been reading the forum lately.)

Good stuff, Deby.

Smile

Loved your vocal, Deby. Cool Cool

While we're waiting for David's professional touch, here's a little amateur engineering from yours truly - with just a touch of dynamics processing and reverb added. Not sure if it makes it any better, but see what you think.

All the best,
Rajiv

mega eek

I didn't know you could do all that with out the tracks???!!!!

I know what reverb is......Whatever dynamic processing is..... I LIKE IT!

(I was a tad disappointed that you didn't make me sound like a chipmonk though)

THANKS!

Glad you liked it, Deby. Like I said, I'm no engineer, and much of what I've learned has just come from twiddling with various experimental settings on Cool Edit Pro 2 (Adobe Audition, these days). From my experience, dynamics processing seems a good way of 'fleshing out' and re-balancing the audio - sometimes even from a single track, as in this case.

Anyway, here's another snippet from the song - this time taking you into Tom Waites-territory, via Madonna, and eventually, yes, your beloved chipmunks...

Didn't know you had such a range, did you? Wink

That was funny........I suppose when your doing a chipmonk song it should be sung slower to begin with.

Ok for those who have offered to help me out on this. Questions....Do I need to wave file each track or can I just mp3 some of them? Also since I did a lot of editing, how in the world are you going to be able to line them up just perfectly???? Question

Oh and I'm going to jack my own thread did anyone audition for the trance song?

Thanks Jordan,
I know what you mean about the "no no" part. That was actually the hardest part to get to match the back up vocals on the CD. You have got a good ear. When I am off....it's usually because I'm flat....not sharp.

I pretty much did this for fun, since I do have a jingle demo already.

When recording vocals, pull one earphone off so you can hear your room voice. That will correct any pitch problems.
