I'm looking for some good reference materials to learn more about taking better care of my voice. I'm a minister, so at least once a week, I get a real vocal work out preaching and singing. I know I've done some pretty serious damage to my chords already (I have 2 or 3 places in my vocal range that are 'silent' - probably nodes), and I'm looking to avoid doing more.
One of my professional singer friends highly recommended Roger Love's book/CD as a good place to start. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I know the basics ... hydration, avoid over loud and under loud, proper warm ups, etc ... i'm looking for something more in depth.
I would also be interested in warm ups that others use. The ones that I use now seem to take the bassy timbre out of my voice by the time I'm done.
Appreciate everyone opining! |
