I've been trying different things for a narrative demo.
What do you guys think of this version?

I'd lose the slate at the top. A bit old school. I'm also not in love with the beeps.
You are good. But the demo is one note. And it needs more narration variety. Lay down some TV appropriate narration, such as Food Network, History Channel, E!, etc.

How can I not agree with Bob about the slate and the beeps? He's right.
I love your voice. It's really unique and has a ton of possibilities. And yes, this is a narrative demo, but it's a snoozer. There's nothing that says narrative demos can't have energy. Again, Bob is right when he says it's a 'one note' song. It is. You need to vary the substance here. Give us a full course meal instead of three appetizers that all look, sound, taste and feel exactly alike. And amazingly, the demo could actually stand to be a bit longer IF you have enough variation in it.

Bob,
When you said you weren't in love with the beeps between cuts, is it just the beeps. Or should I leave out any type of sounds between cuts?

Lose ANY transitional FX. Just keep the demo moving, cut to cut to cut. Keep the listener wanting more, NOT knowing that "Hey, this cut's over and I can hit 'stop' now". Listen to the demos of the top-tier folks here and on voicebank.net. Only a few use front-end slates and NONE have ANY transitional FX between clips, including fades or beeps.
