JC, I gotta tell ya... Iron Man bored me. And this is from a guy who owns and loves X-Men 3 and Transformers. But I'm getting a bit burned out on all the movie rehashes of the old comic book heroes and the disagreement I have with my wife (who LOVED Iron Man) is that there's not much of a story anymore in them. They're relying solely on CG and it's all looking the same to me. But that's just one guy's opinion....

I usually don't go to documentaries, but my wife and I were both pretty blown away by the film "Expelled" by Ben Stein. Found it extremely interesting. I'm not sure if it's still in theaters, but check it out if you can.

We've decided to wait for DVD on Ironman. My son and I like Indy -- I mean it's Indy for him ...and Harrison Fordelicious for me. But it was even sillier than the previous installments (if that's even possible!) and we were left kind of "eh???" by the end. But it's funny with some really good little bits of dialogue (ie, "There's not a Sears Roebuck here!!") and fun action. And Cate Blanchett does a delightful Natasha, a la Rocky and Bullwinkle. Not sure that's what she meant to do, but, oh, well.

Yes, on Expelled. Don't think it's in theaters anymore, but it ought to be on DVD soon. I highly recommend it. Gives a cultural and historical context to Darwin's work that isn't typically explored in the hard sciences.

C'MON SCOTT! Bored you?
Oh well...different strokes...etc

On the comedy side, I'm really looking forward to our hometown hero ADAM SANDLER's "You don't mess with the ZOHAN. (He's from Manchester NH...and grew up only 2 minutes from my house)." Looks like fun...and my ALLTIME FAVORITE COMEDY HERO MIKE MYERS. His new one's called "The Love Guru." If you haven't seen the trailer yet, and you liked Austin Powers...check it out! ***It's made especially for VO's! Watch it here:

Right here this tells me our tastes are different in movies - at least to some extent - JC. Neither of those movies look like anything I'd be interested in. I DO love good comedies, and "Hancock" with Will Smith looks wonderful. So does "Wall-e"

CULTURE? In New Hampshire??? Surely, you JEST!
Only Kidding...
I love it here in Manchester. It's big enough to be a city, yet small enough to be warm & friendly. Ever since they put the VERIZON arena up several years ago, and then built the Fisher Cats Stadium, the downtown district has been hoppin.
It's Sooo great to get out of a big show like Elton John, Rush, or Coldplay, and be home in 7 minutes. Or go out for a bite and be home in an hour.
Same goes for the historic Palace theater. Have you been there lately? It almost closed about 10 years ago, but people stepped up and kept it around! What a cool old theater! We've been there to see great shows like "A Christmas Carole," and "Joseph & The Amazing..." great comedy shows by Paula Poundstone and Bob Marley, and cool rock shows with Foreigner and the late Brad Delp's "Beatlejuice." Great atmosphere...and wonderful sound...in a truly intimate setting.
So yeah...culture lives in Manch-vegas!
