Yeah... as we all know, it's not always the "5" that gets the gig... who knows? But, again, excellent job on your part.

Dave... I have a tendency to sound "mean" on these type of reads. You are friendlier. Now... what do they want? That's anyone's guess.

I saw the lead and I believe they wanted Colin at the front and Dave at the end. That's the way I saw it. I listened to yours Colin and the opening segment was right on the money but the 2nd half should have been more "salesy" or up and friendly.

I would not call those failers! I thought they were pretty good.

Thanks, Deby, but compared to the Muscle Car guys, they sound awfully poofy. I dabble with 'em because...well, like Sir Hillary said of the Matterhorn, "Because it's there." Gotta work it.

Speaking of which, you do the innocent vacuous woman like nobody else. You make it sound so carefree and easy-going. The Sobes sounded dead-on to me.

Solid car thingy, too, Dave. You might have gone a little to cheer-leady towards the end of the second half, but what do I know about car ads? (See above)

Yup, Colin; the second one was a keeper, with the possible exception of the second chatty "....well...."

Speaking of good stuff, I popped over to Julie's forum and heard some real solid stuff from names we're not familiar with here.
That's no surprise, of course, but illustrates again that good talent is everywhere, I tell you. The pool is getting awfully crowded.

I'm just glad I can tread water.

HAL is back. I didn't get to submit the first time so a re-invite is nice. I got some good reviews on my futile attempt the first time just for Savvy that I am now able to submit and have submitted...

That's sort of how I found this forum. I mean, as a Voice123 member I knew it was here but I never checked it out until one day I Googled "Liquid Blue" and was directed here.

These guys must be handing out fives like trick or treat candy. I got one, too.

I've gotten plenty of fives and never heard a peep from the seekers. Meanwhile, this week I was contacted by someone who gave me just 3 stars and since the average was 3.5, I know there was at least one person who they liked better. It is, as always, a crap shoot.

Anyhoo ... here's my car dealer spot. (Maybe they liked the fact that I squeezed it all into 30 seconds.) And Connie, I have no problem posting this particular one because the seeker disguised the client's true identity by calling it "Voice123 Auto."

Really liked your HAL, Colin. Had a little go at that one, myself (can't match your tones, though!). I submitted dry-voice, but this version has some effects.

Also, in the same vein as Scott's Tailholt web promo, here's a link to a site with one of my posh British reads.

Hope none of you need any related advice! Wink

What I don't understand is, why is the HAL 9000 seeker looking for even more auditions? The first time around, he got a ton of really good ones, although he handed out mostly one- and two-star ratings. I wonder if what he needs (although this was not part of the project description) is the version of HAL that is being de-activated by Dave.

Lee - You know - TWO PAGES plus of HAL would get pretty old - esp - if it is based on HAL getting senile... Based on the ratings last time vs the quality of your and the other auditions posted here - I deleted the lead... cuz I don't think they really know what they want...

Ahh that's so sweet of you, Robert....but I really need to vacuum more often.....and as for carefree and easy-going...I actually work up a bit of a sweat when I'm pushing the hoover around....(LOL) schauen

I listened to the 2 Hals on this page....They were both good. I got a feeling of dejavoo or however it's spelled. I don't know if they wanted them to be funny or not. I will say that Rajav's was the most creepy and actually scared me. I'm not sure if that's good or not....If I have nightmares tonight I'm blaming you Rajav. Shocked
