This can be pretty nerve-racking. Very few other voice talents have heard my work and been able to give feedback. This could turn out to be a great tool for all of us. Peer review and constructive criticism.

Erik,
I would like to preface this question by telling you that I listen to demos all the time, from talents of all different skill sets and have been doing so for over a decade...
That being said, what would you most like to hear as far as opinion?
The biggest issue I hear with the demo is that your voice is burried behind many of the effects and music beds..
Clients really just want to hear you and how you sound. The mulitiple layers of efffects and music are fine, as long as they are in their place.
That place is behind the talent, not in front of them.
I'm only trying to help, not trying to tear you down..

| Thanks Michael. I want to hear any feedback, good or bad. I am happy to hear from someone with as much experience in the industry as yourself. This demo was put together using audio from work that I have done lately. Perhaps I should use clips that don't have such a predominant music bed. Back to the drawing board.

Not interested in being the guy who know everything, but....
Sounds like you are listening to yourself in your headphones....turn 'em down or take 'em off.....relax..... you are talking to a friend... you can be passionate without being over the top
Hope this helps
My best to you my friend

Hey Erik,
This may sound crazy but....
you sound tense. You sound like you "need" to read the script....like someone said, "ok, now read this and don't sound like you're reading it". I think if you just add more "Erik", the way you'd talk to a friend, you'd be home-free. I agree with Kevan....Relax....this is fun!
Keep on voice'n!!!
Have a great day

Hey Erik!
you've got a great voice man! good range on reads. my suggestion would be to cut your demo down a bit. seems a little long. i'd say trim maybe two spots off. best to you.

Erik:
Just to add my howl to the general braying, I'd cut the Brio (kind'a weak opening), Television Sales (dull-ish), MD3 (not reflective of your style), and the Movie Trailer bit (seems forced). That would leave a shorter more listen-able refelection of your goods, which are super-fine and really distinct, especially on the hot John Moore and Gutter Tunnel bits.
Way to go, guy...
Robert
