Oh Scott,
I was one page off. Anyway I got an audition for the Mom role on the cartoon thing so I mixed my audition together and came up with this.

The old lady read said that they wanted a reflective voice....said Betty White could be an example. I think I sound more like Jessica Tandy, but that's why I smoothed out a bit.

Simon....you sound cool as usual...might have gone a bit more surfer on the narly word.

I wish I had had a chance on the Moon Sand thing. I like Dave's the best. They both need more smile though.

The Clinton script really cracked me up. Sounded more like it should Clinton's Father though. Funny stuff though. Very Happy

Simon, I IMMEDIATELY thought of you when that lead came thru my inbox. You do have the perfect voice for it, but you gotta clean up the auditions a bit. I'm at a loss as to why you submitted three takes that are, essentially, identical. If you're going to give 'em three, make 'em different. Also, you had a monster gulp of air on take one just before "now you can..." and some seriously popping plosives happening there.

Still, you have a fun, rad voice that may be exactly what they're looking for, unlike mine which you'll find below. Yes I did submit it.

Okay, Deby, you asked for it.
I'm not really sure what they're looking for so I'll guess it was a little girl and a mom. Ordinarily I don't like adults doing kids, but you're doing a good job here. You might be given Kara Edwards a run for her money and that's saying a lot. As I listened I really came to appreciate your acting on this. You did a GREAT JOB. The ONLY thing is that the audition dragged. I would have tightened up the whole thing like you'll find below. But I really, really thought you hit a home run on that one! Two terrific - and VERY different - voices!

Wow, Scott. Great example of what a difference tighening up makes on what was already a great read.
Really brings it forward and keeps your attention even more.
and the Clinton was good, if just a bit older sounding.

Don't know how they can't pick you for that one Simon. You're obviously made for it.

Thanks Dave, that song is now stuck in my head. Very Happy

Simon-

Sweet job on the Tony Hawk read! Perfect voice for it! You'd have the gig if it were up to me (no offense to Scott). I gave it a shot too... but you nailed it.

Ya know.... I knew there was something wrong!!!!! I just couldn't quite put my finger on it. I messed around with my settings the other night and forgot to switch em back.... And you're totally right why would I go and send the same darn thing? Stupid me!

Well... here's my shot at Moon Sand!! haha Hopefully the quality sounds better this time 'round Wink I highly highly doubt I have a chance over Dave or Lee... This is the first time I've sung outside the shower in a while.

Woooa Dave that was killer... You sound alot like Vic Harris! Thanks for the hire Razz

Scott I really like your Tony Hawk audition too... The thing about this gig is that either of us would do a great job so I'm sure the client is having a pretty tough time making up their mind.

Well Crap Scott...it's supposed to be a 10 year old boy!!! Thanks for getting it tight though.

I thought you skater voice would be really good to advertise a very masculine kids toy....like a GI Joe doll....for what it's worth.

Dave I liked the smoothness of you skater read....Simon's voice is way more Cali cool and just right for this....but your read was smooth. Mix them together and there is a perfect read.

Dave that was righteous! I'll bring the cool and you bring the intensity and we'll take over the voice industry! (in the teen market) We can't be steppin' on Scott's turf... he's like mafia.. the good hearted kind!

I've been trying to focus my efforts on any young adult reads too so I gave the Tony Hawk auditions a shot. But I realize that I'm also up against the highly talented Simon Hill (many cheers to ya)

But, here it is anyway....

After that "1" everyone (including myself) was getting that we discussed under Chit Chat... it was nice to get a 5 on this one. They wanted a sportscaster delivery...

Cam: I really like the sound of your voice on the Tony Hawk thing. I'd say where Simon has the edge over everyone, though, is in the energy level. I'd LOVE to hear you redo that with about 50% (or more) excitement. But ya sound good!

Colin:
Good job on injuREplay. This is an off week for me. I got a 3. One of the worst weeks I've had here in terms of ratings.

Hey, Colin, you're a board moderator: why don't we have a new L&R thread started for the week of 12/17??
