Jacob... keep 'em coming!
Man, that was SO beautiful! I immediately downloaded that and sent it to my wife. How gorgeous.
The attached is interesting. I'm not into country music AT ALL, and, fortunately, this ISN'T country. But the vocalist, Mary Chapin Carpenter, is a popular country singer. But this song "My Heaven", simply gives me chills every time I hear it. Give it a listen....
(P.S.: this is a low bit-rate version to speed up downloads)

So, due to technical problems, sunday was non-existing here, so "Sunday Sanctuary" is hereby renamed temporarily to... "Mellow Monday"..??

Well then, I'm sure you and the wife will love this aswell.
It's been posted before in the "oldies" thread, but not exactly an oldie, its'much better suited for this one. Again, it's a song from the project "Bliss". I had to post an edited version to fit it in an acceptable quality, but you get the picture. I love it, hope you all will too.

Jacob,
I'm SO glad you posted this. I DO love this and have heard it in the past. I discovered a guy named DJ River who does very long ambient mixes and he originally had part of this song on one of his mixes that I downloaded. Since then I've heard this on either XM or on Pandora. If you haven't heard Rivers' mixes, go give 'em a listen here:

John,
you're welcome.
Scott....
I feel I've found some sort of soul-mate in you... musically, anyway. We seem to share the exact same taste in music, and the link you provided is right up my alley. I have already downloaded several River-mixes, and love that place already. Thanks, brother... _________________ Regards,

here is an artist that i've had the pleasure to know of and see in concert back in the day (72 & 73, Victoria Opera House, Dayton, Ohio), and who has thankfully not fallen into the musical abyss...
Shawn Phillips is a multi-instrumentalist w/ the most astounding vocal range i've ever heard... he was as popular as Donovan (wrote 'The Little Tin Soldier', and co-wrote 'Sunshine Superman w/ him), and taught George Harrison how to play the sitar...
may you enoy him as much as i do.. if already a fan, here is tastefully done treatment of the awe inspiring "L. Ballade"

John, I remember Shawn Phillips well. My ex-wife had one or two of his albums. I'm not where I can listen to the YouTube clip at the moment but look forward to doing so later tonight.
Jacob... yes, I'd say we seem to have very similar tastes. Here's a lead for you: Go to pandora.com to start creating your own online radio stations. Do a search for the "Afro-celt Sound System" and build a station around that and see if you don't love some of the songs that come up. You might try doing the same with Hilary Stagg, an electronic harp player much like Andreas Vollenweider. _________________ Scott R. Pollak Warm. Real. Natural. www.voicebyscott.com

Scott,
I've been a very happy user of Pandora in the past, but then they closed acces for non-US residents I've tried last.fm as an alternative, but don't think it's nearly as good.
But thanks anyway, buddy. _________________ Regards,

UK vocalist Sheila Chandra has the ability to transform my rough edges of the week to the subtle smoothness of sea glass.. be it her singing an Indi-pop tune, or an Indianised version of an 18th century Scottish ballad, or contribution to The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers soundtrack...
here is one of her better known tunes from '82...

John, very pretty, soothing, melodic, peaceful. Nice!
At the risk of tooting my own horn, as I occasionally do, I'm submitting one of my personal favorites from my first cd of original music for your listening pleasure. This is called "The Glorious Path".

Vangelis!! Holy Cow! I haven't heard that name in ages, and I actually have one of his cds (soundtrack to Antarctica). YEARS ago, late '70's, I worked in a retail music outlet in New Orleans - we still sold vinyl records and even some 8-tracks, and I saw my first Vangelis Album, called "Spiral". I brought it home, listened to it and was amazed.
Man, talk about a time trip! _________________ Scott R. Pollak Warm. Real. Natural. www.voicebyscott.com
