Hello! I can't honestly say I have any sort of acting career, nor any formal training. I have been in a multitude of community plays and given plenty of humorous speeches, all with a pretty good reception. All of my directors (only one is a former professional) have told me that I have great voice talent, and two professional college directors have told me the same. I know those aren't the greatest credentials, but hey, better than nothing. I would absolutely adore playing a cartoon character, especially the off-to-the-side comic relief kind of character. I have absolutely no professional qualifications, but after reading the posts here for many weeks, I feel like I'm finally ready to give this a shot. I have a major problem, however. The best equipment I have is my little PC and mid-quality $40 microphone. Moving is out of the question, and as there are exactly zero recording studios within 100 miles of this little town, I'm here to ask how possible it is to do a decent recording with no studio. If push comes to shove, there is a studio about 120 miles out that I could go to, but that'd be pretty expensive. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome, John. The best place to start here is by reading the sticky you'll find at the top of the 'Newbies' thread.

Hi John,

Many exceptionally successful and talented people started from right where you are right now. You've got to start somewhere, right!

Good luck!
