| I'm now listed on voicebank because of a couple of my agency affiliations... do you think it's worth the 249.00 for a premium link? I'm especially interested in hearing from those that have coughed up the coin to be listed. |

I'm new on Voicebank as well but have been going there for quite a while. I always click on the names with stars next to them.
$249 is a lot but it might just be worth it. Hmmmm..... _________________ voice talent Productions

| What do you get for $249 from Voicebank. I'm on there through my agents, but not a personal subscription. Why would anyone want to personally be on there? |

Well, I myself am not a premium member. I've thought about it, and haven't done it for no other reason than procrastination.
What would I gain??? I don't know. But it's less than $1.50 a day for a one year membership. Not a huge investment. Worse case scenario it's a tax write off. If I get one gig from it (minimum gig would be a radio spot, with LA rates being about $400) it's more than paid for. So yeah, I'd say it's worth the investment.

| Thanks Bob (et all)... I suppose it doesn't hurt to be "all over the place". |

Paying me $1.50 per day might get you a gig too, but joining a service as an individual which you are already part of through multiple talent agents and not knowing what you get in exchange doesn't seem like the greatest business decision.
I honestly have no idea what the service that voicebank.net offers to individual actors for $299. Could anyone tell me what this service is?
Am I the only one that finds this thread odd? |

I called Voicebank and spoke with Amber also. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions.
I'm without an agent and looking to take that step next. I don't know if Voicebank can help me in that way, but I think I may sign up regardless and see what happens. |

Todd, it was my understanding that you had to have an agent to be on Voicebank in the first place.
The extra deal here is that if you sign up for this program your name will appear in bold with a red star next to it and will link directly to your personal site.
Some agents will not allow this. I recently spoke to one of mine about it and he wont allow it either. Makes sense to me. They have to pay out to put you up on there in the first place so why would they want seekers to be able to contact you, and hire you directly, bypassing their agent fee? I am surprised any agents are cool about it. If I put someone on my roster and paid to have them on Voicebank I wouldn't be too happy about it myself. _________________ voice talent Productions

| She made it clear to me that this is a good way for me to find multiple agents. |

I asked Amber about 7 times to make sure I had it straight and I was told that the premium service available to talent was ONLY available if that talent was already listed in Voicebank through an Agent, casting service or other member organization.
The premium service made the talents name within that agency roster listing bold, put a star next to it and provided a link to the talent's website. This was what your premium fee got you. YOU had to be listed on Voicebank first. The way your name would be listed would be as a talent in an agency or casting service roster that was a member organization of Voicebank.
I was very clear to ask her if there was any way that talent can list themselves and I was told in no uncertain terms NO. I took notes and was not under the effects of alcohol or mind altering substances. (perhaps I was experiencing a flashback during the call)
SO, if anyone here has heard anything to the contrary, please specifically tell me what you think you heard Voicebank tell you. |

Voicebank, in addition to being a clearing house for agents to showcase talents and a hub for talent to post auditions requested by the member agents, does offer Voice Registry, separate, but linked to Voicebank, whereby talent can pay to have a link to their site. It's $99/year with an initial $49 set up fee. This is intended for talent without representation or without major market representation to gain exposure to agents which do list on voicebank. And of course, if a producer or ad agency is perusing VB for talent, clicks over to VR and clicks on your link, that can lead to a booking. A lot of ifs. |

^ That's it! Voice registry. She told me it is good exposure and access to contacts that are hard to come by for the freelancer without an agent.
I haven't signed up yet. Still contemplating, but leaning toward doing it. Worth a try, I guess. |
