|
|
Union contracts AFTRA or SAG price audiobook voiceover work by the studio hour. That's for the voicing of the project. The recording studio bill is entirely a new charge...the voiceover is one fee to the voice artist. Then, there is a studio bill to pay. That's for engineering it. Seems only fair. Why should I voice something for a rate but receive NO MONEY whatsoever for engineering it? And take it from me everybody, audio book engineering work is very tedious and very time consuming and authors and producers often have script changes and decide on redos a lot and it's one big hassle so be prepared for trouble spelled with a capital T when you take a project that pays you for voicing it with no studio money. That is truly one of the things that should be changed on this site! Complex engineering jobs should be priced separately from voiceover jobs! Get real and help us change this here. Our voices are heard by 123 so speak your piece and let's get paid for engineering separate from voicing on BIG projects like books or big corporate scripts...the big jobs. _________________ Bettye Zoller: CLIOS, ADDYS, GOLDEN RADIOS, AUDIES, Member Voice and Speech Trainers Assoc., AFTRA SAG, 34 years a pro. |
