Good one, Erik. I've been on the LIR -- and like the LAR much better!

I think your 5 may have raised the average. It's up to 4.9 now. According to what I can determine, they requested 200 auditions, have gotten 92 replies, and have listened to 65. Mine is one of the 27 they have yet to open but since they have listened to 100% of the demos for all their previous projects, I imagine they are taking their time and will get around to the rest of them.

Colin... I didn't do the Rainbow Casino. To be honest, I was put off by how the client's comments were worded; I recall them as being a bit snotty and condescending. Congrats on the 5, though. I'm not surprised by it.
Craig: You know, you and I just chatted a LOT via p.m. and I was gushing all over you and how you sound. But to be honest, the Eagle View sounded very stiff and forced to my ears. Not the laid back and REAL Craig I've been hearing. I'm sorry, but I just didn't feel like you were very comfortable with this read; it was almost like you were trying too hard to give the perfect delivery. Just my take on it, others will no doubt disagree..........
Thom: That's the comfortable read I was hearing in my head. Nice. You threw in some particularly beautiful little soft asides that worked just perfectly. Vintage Wilkins.
Scott: I don't think the my station was in your comfort zone. For one thing, your delivery is just too nice. Not edgy enough. And it just didn't sound like you were 'living it'. More like you were just laying it down. It's hard to explain, but it just didn't sound like a fit for you.
And now that the old curmudgeon has spoken, feel free to cast slings and arrows back at me. I really LOVED doing this one, which means the client will most likely never open it. The ones I feel best about never get opened.

Scott, not a problem on the critiquing. That's what will be the most helpful in the end. Sure we all like to get the well done and it is nice when it happens. But for the most part many vo's especially newer ones cannot hear the voice for the sound. Scott and others, please keep it up, your comments are appreciated and wanted.
Craig

After months of 3 and 4 star ratings, I finally got my first 5!
I've been warned: it doesn't mean a job. (the average rating so far is a 4)

Colin and Allison; congrats on your respective 5s. Colin, I too submitted for "Rainbow Casino," though I didn't receive a rating (always a bad sign, methinks). But when I re-listened I thought I sounded too "pushed." C'est la vie....
Scott, really nice read (as usual) on the JD.

Wanted to point out a few notables from last week (never too late, is it?)
Sid - your Northland Nissan rocked! WOW ~ you do those well man...
Lee - nice job on Frosty!!! I took a stab at it too - tho' I liked yours' better
Colin - Frosty was sounding a bit Northern Minnesoootan there, eh? We Canadians doon't talk quite that brightly there, now... But now your Jack Daniels there.. that was pretty darn smooth there...
Scott - the web animation was sublime (tho' sorry to say you didn't sound at all like Thom... nice try... but Thom is unique.. hard to imitate.. I should know.. I was channeling him for a while - didn't work! ....a little hint: you need to ar-ti-cu-la-te more...) But then... if it works to get a read like that out of you - then by all means, go for it! Because it's one the best reads I've heard you do.
Speaking of Thom... your Black Friday was brilliant!! Cracked me up! As for the Osage golf resort piece.. your choice of varying the pace... in the oddest of places.. was very interesting.. very unlike you... "..and the majestic bluffs overlooking the Osage river..." ? (was that a stealth watermark?) But other than that little oddity, it was wonderful.. pure.. classic.. smooth.. Wilkins... a beautiful thing..
The pickins have been slim indeed.. but here's one from TOS...

You said it well Allison. I have recieved a handful of 5's over the months and notta. Ironically the one I got a 4 on payed out. Go figure. It wasn't because of price either because the job was a "to be defined."
Go figure, but I hope you do get it.
Craig
