A fellow newbie has joined the group!
I just recently completed my new demos and joined the voice123 crew, check it out!
I am upgrading my subscription later this week to the premium pkg and actively pursuing work from many sources.
I work a full-time job currently which only allows me to pursue this in the evening and at lunch during business hours.
I just started reading the info all of you send back and forth and this forum is a great resource!
Ron should look up the Beef Council for work! "It's what's for dinner." Give Sam Elliot a run for his money!
Ron, I am using protools and since I just recently started this is what I was told was the industry standard in recording software. I also use an mbox mini, a mac and a good mic.
Did you record your demos at home with your own gear?
Any constructive tips for a newbie I may not have heard already are always appreciated.
KEEP ON TALKIN'! [/img] |

Kirk, you have a nice voice, I can't help you much with the tech stuff but these guys and gals are good, I did record at home and now in the process of overhaulin my studio for better sound quality, I use Sound Forge 8.0, works pretty well , easy to use, Pro Tools is probably a better choice and used by several in this industry.
If you hang out reading the post here you will learn a whole lot from these guys and they are always willing to help out with any issues you might have, they have helped me quite a bit.
I'm pretty new with this digital stuff and just wingin it myself, have had a few jobs though, mostly agricultural stuff, and one movie voiceover, don't know if I can mention it since it is not scheduled for release for a few months yet, I'm hoping to get more as soon as I get up and running again, from the metroplex are ya ?, I am about 150 miles from there ( Brownwood ) anyway, welcome aboard !! |

Jacob,
I went with the Audiophile 2496 PCI-card, now I just got to get it all tweaked to XP and Sound forge 8.0 to make it work correctly, I'm almost there. |
