Hey, if they are going to be rating us, ala` eBay, do we get to rate them?

I mean look at what some of them post. Bad copy, no direction, misspelled practically unintelligible sentences. What about non payers, and slow payers and bad check writers? What about the ones who take my read/production and have another talent do the job or even the ones who just run the spots if the full content is there?

How will the new system address those things?

The whole 123 site Idea is a good one in concept. For me there are a few areas that seem to need addressing.

Again these are my own personal thoughts...You have to look at this kinda like American Idol. Someone sends in a request for talent and then they are blitzed with replies without a panel of judges to filter the ones who can't sing or should'nt even be there.

So now they have a HUGE PILE of submissions. In my case I only produce ultra high quality replies which takes alot more time then someone with an inexpensive mic plugged into their computer.

Now here lies a problem... I have yet to see a request without 30 or more responses already on it. Does the Voice Seeker even get to hear my response? If I am above 30 in the que? Do they even desire to listen to over 70 to 170 submissions? probably not...

not to mention the Talent Seeker might feel over whelmed with the shear magnitude of the responses and worse yet its possible that the first 10 or 20 submissions might be so bad because they were either poorly or so quickly done they might just go away and never come back here again forever. So who wins in this secenario? ( nobody ).

so now the real voice talents are out the time and effort they spent putting their custom demo together. The Seeker is out and goes somehere else. and the site has possibly lost a customer and maybe after enough of these the Talent leaves as well since he continues not to get heard.

If thats not enough in my case 123 is located on the East Coast.
So If I want to even compete for the jobs at 7 AM.. it's 4 AM here
I realize that this one is my own personal problem but it just adds to the frustration.

Personally I have invested quite a tidy sum into my studio and after 30 years in the Voice and Music Production business I am serious about my replies since this is not a hobby to me it's a living.

I have no real answers for this..But Thank God, I have a local following or I would have starved by now... And I am, as I am sure you all are as well curious as to what 123 is going to come up with as a solution

Ok now you have heard my two cents worth back to work... Smile
