Hello Hea:
Welcome!
First - you should probably know what is expected of a professional demo.
I’m assuming by what you wrote that you don’t have a portfolio…
So, listen to some of the pros on this board to get an idea of what you’ll need to truly compete.
Fortunately – there is some awesome talent to “demonstrate”.
Listen to Kara Edwards, Bettye Zoller, September Day Leach, Amy Snively and Connie Terwilliger. (I’ve omitted dozens here at V123, I know).
These talents truly “get it”. I’m certain each will blow you away with their talent. They are true artists.
You should seek out a good coach and work to perfect the art. Only then should you put together a demo. Many coaches will help you put together a demo. Costs range from hundreds to thousands of dollars. (Be careful who ya choose!) There are even some producers here at V123 that can help you through the process.
Good luck – let us know of your progress.
Regards,
Tom Pagnotti |
