Thought this would be as good a place as any for this, since it's for "all the topics that don't fit elsewhere". It's obvious there are many people on this site with multiple talents: singers, musicians, artists, animators, welders, brain surgeons....

Anyway, besides being a professional graphic artist, I'm also a musician and released my first c.d. of all original music this past spring. It's ambient with a beat, kind of like a cross between Enya, Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream. There are 13 tracks with about an hour and 10 minutes of music. As a struggling musician/voice-over guy, I'd like to ask my peers here to check it out and if you feel so motivated, rest assured there are PLENTY of copies available for purchase. The cd can be previewed and purchased at:

http://cdbaby.com/cd/soloeclypse

I also have 13 new tracks done for my next c.d. which I hope to release next spring and you can preview them at my site:

http://www.soloeclypse.com (go to the 'news' page when you get there to hear clips of the new stuff).

I'd love to hear what YOU guys are doing, too! We've seen samples of some awesome 3D work on this forum over this past week. What other talent is hiding in the shadows out there?

Thanks for allowing this shameless self-promotion.
(Oh, and Freddie... if V123 thinks about deleting this... remember, it's the income from my music sales that supports my V123 membership!

Not a problem Scott, we think it’s just fine. Actually I listened to the CD samples on your page and I loved them, you are quite multi-talented. I’m impressed.

Thats very very nice Scott. Listened to several tracks on the site. I'm impressed. During my "agency days" and since I was 12yrs. old I was also a performer. My main insturment was drums and I was able to nuture my talent in the studio. Got to perform with the "big boys" many many times. I also went Country during the 80's
and established quite a decent name for myself including performing at the State Fair of Texas and was featured on "The Best Bands in Texas" album around 84. All in All......it was quite a party! What is your setup for your music recordings? Sid

Sid,

My setup is pretty unimpressive, but it works. I have a Yamaha CS2X control synthesizer that is the workhorse of most of my music and I run it directly in via stereo input into my sound card. My two guitars are a Taylor Dan Crary Custom acoustic/electric and a Gibson Les Paul Studio model that I run thru a POD soundshaper interface before going into the computer. All editing done on Cool Edit Pro V2.0. That's it. Nothing more. I know this will sound like heresy to a drummer like you, but my percussion is all drum loops, some of which I create with PCDrummer (I'm looking for a better program) and some which I download. Actually, my wife is a drummer, too, and has a complete set which I bought her a few years ago, but she doesn't play them much anymore. She does, however, play a lot of percussion in our church band; djembe, congas, etc.

Cool set up Scott! you're right about: singers, musicians, artists, animators, welders, brain surgeons but you forgot to mention dancing elf's from soul train too.
