Hey Deby,
I liked your audition quite a lot. I don't care for the slate at all though. If it's one of your kids doing it, then my apologies, but it's rather 'in your face' and, well, just kind of like fingernails on a blackboard, IMO.
Speaking of kids, one of my local clients who owns a cable channel is coming out with a new show called "Let's Go Eat" and she asked if I could use my kids and talent to come up with a VERY brief show intro, so this is what I threw together this morning.

Scott....Most of time I like my slates to have the same delivery as the script, but every once and a while I like to use my slate to show a different delivery. I understand what you are saying though.
I think your food thing is ok, but the volume may need to be played with on certain lines. Your son's first line is too soft for the music at the end of the line. The volume tends to trail off. The girls voice has no problem on her first line rising above the music though. I'm sure you can hear what I'm saying.

Deby-
Hi. Love your voice.
Couple of things to check - -
The third time you say "production", did you say "perduction"?
Also, I'm not hearing the "C" in "discography".

Scott --
I LOVED the kids -- they have "natural" down -- where'd they get that from?
The music I found distracting. I would have liked to really hear the hunger in the voices -- and make that the focus.

Hi Diane. I also have a music track on this read. Could you give a listen and let me know if you think it's too much?
Thanks a bunch.

| Thanks Allen....I know what your saying sometimes I say pro and sometimes I say prer or pru. It really helps to have someone else's ears on it. I guess that Perrrduction thing is an example of my Texas accent sneaking out sometimes.

Hi, Steve--
Very nice read on this!
The music has a good "toy" sound, and it's subtle enough -- but it's a little repetitive, like it's looped at one point -- and for a short spot like this, perhaps something a bit more melodic would be preferable. Just my gut reaction.
Scott
I'm glad they liked it -- see, what do I know? I just wanted to hear more of the kids' acting. It put me in mind of the Chevy Chase vacation movies.
I tried to open your son's video but I don't think I have the plug-in -- I have a Mac, and never can open .wmv files.

Steve,
I agree with Diane on your delivery... really, really nice on that. Great job. Not sure I agree that the music is too repetitive. On a short spot like that I think it's alright. And the music is a good fit; volume is about right, the feel is perfect, and I love the 'uh oh' in there.

Steve....I think it's fine.
Scott... That skating thing has motivated me. I'm gettting off the computer and getting some exercise at 7pm.
Here is my latest audition. I really wish I had a music bed for it.
