Tonight, I've been listening to numbers of professional demos... and I'm amazed at the mouth noise! Of late, this has been a problem for me... but after listening, I'm wondering how big of a deal it is... supposedly, a demo is a person's best stuff... so am I trying to hard to eliminate?
Thank you for your input! _________________ Kim White |

There is no mouth noise on a professional demo. _________________ www.amysnively.com |

Well said Amy.
Mouth noise is gross and really distracting when trying to listen to a demo. If your local grocer is out of green apples (no, not that conversation again) then redo any spot with audible noise you would want to use on a demo. It is not quite as bad as plosives but it is close. _________________ voice talent Productions

Amy & Erik,
I agree with you... but I've been listening to lots of 'signed' demos tonight, and am surprised by the clicks. _________________ Kim White |

I agree with the other talents here at Savvy.
Not only is my work ultra-professional, but I have yet to meet a client who wasn't kind, courteous, and absolutely right in knowing what they wanted.
(note: the above is a site-to-Savvy link template to make me seem nice.)
Could you give us a couple of instances to check out, Kim?
Or are you talking about Amy's, mine, and Erik's demos? |

So, green apples it is.
Trying not to point fingers in a public forum... but looking around the room (just joking). _________________ Kim White

I hope she doesn't mean any of MY demos, which are always delivered promptly and exactly to the client's specifications. Which are never unreasonable.
:47 worth of copy squeezed into :26 so theirs a little room for the tag? Never a problem when you select Amy Snively. That's Amy Snively. Amy at Amy Snively dot com for all your voice over needs! _________________ www.amysnively.com |

LOL! Of course I'd never suggest any of YOU had such a problem... you've all been wonderful to me! And better believe it, I appreciate it (and will pay it forward one day)! _________________ Kim White |

| I remember lazily scouring VoiceBank and hearing some mouth-click nastiness from VERY established professionals. I'll see if I can grab a link or five later. |

Yes, Kim White is a class act with a ton of talent -- but let's not forget Lance Blair -- a giant in the industry and a wonderful human being! _________________ Diane

Wow. I'm blushing. May I quote you all on my website?
It's such an honor to be a member of the 'mutual admiration society!' LOL!
Really, thank you for the sweet comments. You all are so very encouraging. _________________ Kim White |

But to your question, Kim -- are you talking about web page DEMOS or auditions or both?
Perhaps character demos might have some mouth noise as part of a particular characterization (Daffy Duck?), but for most purposes mouth noise is a bad thing anywhere. I don't hear much mouth noise on your postings. _________________ Diane
