Good morning, all. Smile

I've spent a little time this morning looking over the boards and, while I see a lot of information on everything from auditions to demos, I'm really just starting out and I know that I'm not ready for either of those steps. I'd like to start with some solid classes.

However, the choice of studios is overwhelming. When I do searches for training in the Los Angeles area, I get tons of hits (really not sure if Google is the best place for such a search) and I have no idea which classes or coaches are any good and which will just be a drain on my bank account.

Is there one solid data base for such a search, preferably with opinions of former students? Or do have any of you had great experiences with someone in the L.A. area?

Thanks so much!

Check out www.voiceoverresourceguide.com. Depending on what your are going for.. commercial, animation etc there are a dizzying number of workshops and classes. a couple to check out would be:

Voicetrax west - Ginny McSwain and Bob Bergen
Kalmenson and Kalmenson
Susan Silo
Sue Blu
Pat Fraley

Let me know if I can help any further.

I recommend:

Huck's class at the Voicecaster
Marc Cashman at Cashman Commercials
Bill Holmes of Compost Productions

and for Trailer, promo and narration, Joyce Castellanos.
