'Ember... my initial glance was "That's kinda nice." but the more I looked the less I liked. Like most here, I really don't like the mike. It's overused and on a cover that represents the type of voice you have it's WAY too clunky and masculine. And it just looks thrown in to the mix with a bunch of other non-equipment type of images.

The font, while really beautiful, is terribly hard to read.
The dots and what not reminded me of some glitzy Vegas show-girl type of attire.

You have so much to work with. Your name is one obvious one that people keep pointing out. But also draw upon your forte', your style. You thrive on sexy and edgy deliveries... make your marketing reflect that. Your fonts and design need to be more cutting edge and hip, like you are.

Look at some of the colors and design techniques channels like MTV and G4 and some of the other more youthful networks are using and draw some ideas from those. Also maybe look at publications that lean somewhat towards the hot and sexy crowd and see what kind of look they're using now.

If you added "Live in the Tropicana Suite" at the top it would be more in keeping with the mood and feel. Listen to your voice and look at the cover. It doesn't say "you" nor does it say "voice over demo".

Most people to whom you send your CD will listen if they have the time or inclination. Within reason, CD and CD cover artwork is less important than most people would have you believe.

MUCH easier to read your name. Love the font! Love the colors. Very much reflects your warm, earthy style.

I'd make your website address smaller and in one of the lower corners. You also don't need "www" anymore. And add "voice-over." I wasn't crazy about "voice-over professional" but it is important to let people know what the CD is all about.

Since you've been so successful in acquiring agents (and congrats!! I know what huge accomplishment this is!!) I would get your representation's 2 cents on your packaging. Since they are the ones selling you, you probably should be working with them on marketing advice.

Keep up the good work!!!

September, I concur with Bob about the colors, the overall font - and the adding of something that says what it is. My questions/comments:

What are the leg(s) for? I'm not getting that. Just to say you are a female?

Much better!!!

I like the first one alot (notsomuch the second one for a number of reasons), but without the mic, and then I'd move the site address down and maybe to the right? I dunno, I'd have to see it.

Also, I forgot to mention this before, I'd put my contact info like phone, email and even ISDN numbers if you have them (so they know you have ISDN... but that's optional) somewhere. Maybe not on the front cover... but maybe the back, or inside?

Thanks Bob, Connie and Caryn!

I'm going to work on it again with all of your suggestions! Very Happy

Connie...the legs were for a female, sexy thing

I was really wanting a picture of some red strappy shoes laying on a fall forest floor, but I can't get anyone who can do that. I may try it myself once the leaves turn down here.

Meantime, a friend sent me this. Still a bit of a work in progress but I think I'm still leaning towards the third cover I posted with some of the tweaks mentioned...

I like that last one best of all. But I agree with Bob that the word "voiceovers" should be there somewhere (maybe on the other leg).

I'll have to disagree with Lee - I think you can be subtle with the female sexy thing...but then I'm a woman, not a man.

I like the idea of the strappy empty sandals tho'...

Once you have representation you don't want your personal contact info on your demo. Let them negotiate with your agent. Your website address will get them to you if they need to get to you directly.

I like "cd cover copy.jpg" the best (though, like Caryn, I vote for ditching the mike); also agree that you can drop the "www" and that you should move the URL to a less prominent place (corner?) Hands down I like the dress/legs the LEAST; it looks jinky and smacks of small-market, IMO--and you're too good for that!

Be careful about the leaf. I would have guessed you were Canadian.
