I am just curious. Did anyone try out for this one...LTK91022249366X Rock Radio
I show that the average rating the seeker was giving out was 1.9!
but I got 3 stars. So I am guessing that they liked mine but my quoted price might have scared them a little. Radio Liners are my forte and I can really do some good ones. So I'm curious to see if anyone landed this gig and how much you charged.
Thanks

Yeah. He told me I got the job for $75 and then when I billed him he refused to pay. I suggest you ask him what the website address is. Then give it to me, because I want to make sure he's not already using what I did.

| Yeah, I am listening to it right now on the net. Did the liners include 101.7 in the script? Can you let us hear what you did so I can see if they are running it on the station. I would love to nail one of these guys for stealing our stuff. |

I don't know guys, my script called for "Rockin 107".
Unless you think they had us read the 107 stuff and then hacked out the parts they wanted for the new morning guy.
I need an aspirin...
I don't think my stuff was hacked because I actually put sfx into my demo (not watermarks but lazers and bombs and stuff that sounded rock-ish).
Certainly something weird is happening...first the fishy biz with Deby, and then the crappy ratings.
Ron, your stuff is WAY stronger than mine and I got a three also HA! SC LIVES! |

Deby, Jacob...I'm not one to be paranoid...wait...Yes I am!
Any Radio Jock with just a little knowledge of audio editing software like adobe can chop that puppy up down to a single breath. So did this voice seeker come back to you deby and say, "You got the gig, now here is the "real frequency" or did they stick with 107? Because many times V123 will change the script around to avoid this type of situation. But I can see some unscrupulous people trolling this site and then taking what they need and chopping it up. Very easy to do when it's just one or two lines. I told them I would do 10 liners fully produced for $200 or they could put me on a retainer for $500 per month for unlimited liners PLUS I put a watermark on the demo so they couldn't chop it up. So, I imagine they just went along until they found a demo they could chop up and use that didn't have a watermark on it, and had the right inflection so it wouldn't sound chopped!
But on the other hand...I am confused!!! I could have sworn they were looking for a big ballsy male voice. So why did they pick a female voice!

LOL! Ron, I knew there was a perfectly good explaination for this and I think you answered part of it.
I did not know that V123 would modify scripts. That explains a lot for me.
BTW, our quotes were pretty similar. I didn't get into retainers with them, but I may follow your lead next time and suggest a retainer up front. I wonder if you added that fee to the "quote" line provided by V123 or if you put it in the comments section?
I can't answer for Deby, and can't really find a good excuse for the somewhat unorthodox process. She may have completley missed out on setting up a great success, but you can bet she'll know for next time.

Yeah Jacob. I know. I have a problem with being paranoid about all this. But I have been, "Taken to the cleaners" in the past. I have driven myself insane trying to just, "Let it go" I just can't help but believe it's more prevalent than everyone thinks it is.
I put the $200 quote in the v123 provided line and then followed it up with the retainer offer in the message box.

There were no numbers at all in my script. It was supposed to be used only for internet radio only. The guy was named Mark Jones and he wanted to pay in pounds. The really weird thing is, his emails were so badly typed it was hard for me to even understand what he was saying. It was like he didn't know english.
It sounded like he didn't not have the project off the ground yet and had a cash flow problem. He sent me 2 pages of script I sent the mp3s separately. After the first page he said I had a really sexy american voice that would be good for his male audience. After I billed him for the radio imaging. He said that he didn't like it and would not use it. Since the price was so low I just gave up at that point. It's not like I could call him or even understand his emails. If I can't communicate with someone....then forget it. I also felt that he was looking for free work. He rated me a 2.5. I wish I had never submitted for it. He even said that usually people don't bill for 3 weeks after. The tone of his email was like....how dare you want to get paid for your work. |

When I first got on this site I clicked on some of the websites listed and I was brought to some porn site.

I'm thinking you may have gotten the best payoff of anybody that dealt with this lead!
