I would love some feedback on my demo and any input someone can offer.
What is the best way to get work here? Is paying for a subscription the best way?
Thanks! |

Hey Mac,
(There's a greeting you don't hear much any more...)
Welcome to the playground. You've obviously been around and bring some boffo production skills to the sandbox.
To answer your question, there's very little guarantee that a paying subscription will bring you anything but frustration and bitterness. Some awfully good voicers go months - even years - without paying gigs here.
On the other hand, there are jobs posted for paying members every single day.
Your stuff indicates another power radio voice, oftimes drowned out with dizzying f/x.
You'd have to pretty well put those toys away for your V123 auditions, and let the voice work it. And while the voice is solid, every site clip was similar, which puts you a lap or so behind the other 1,200 good voices here.
You need to work on the more personal delivery: narratives and testimonials and buddy-to-buddy styles that are more in demand here.
I'd say 75% of clients actually spell out: No Radio-type Announcers.
So obviously you'd have to break that habit.
If'n you're ready to try that, and leave the bells and whistles off the piece, it just might be worth a whirl.
Voice On!
I'd suggest |

mac
you have a very powerful and motivating/energetic voice.
the quality of your broadcast/commercial voice projection is excellent.
i would say that showcasing versatility and the ability to adapt your voice would be the way to go, using your big voice as your special "six-shooter on the hip"!
i'm in the same boat of exploring demo production to be able to go after many kinds of leads.
hope this helps in any small way!

Dan,
Thank you for the input. Trying to see how one's work is viewed by others in the business helps fine tune what we are trying to do!
Much appreciated!
