I'm new here. I'm from Phoenix, AZ. I have ZERO experience, but I'm looking to learn.

I'm not interested really in doing any voiceovers as a line of work. I'm really just here to learn all I can so I can do volunteer books-on-tape for mainly small religious books and tracks.

Here's the system I'm using currently:

Heil PR40 mic
Digidesign 003 for interface
Beyerdynamic DT770 headset
Using Protools for editing

And a room that looks like a disaster with echo absorbing things hanging from walls and ceilings... THe house is for sale and we have to make a mad dash every time there is a showing otherwise they'll think we're doing something either very illegal or very weird...

I decided after criticizing the terrible recordings out there for certain books I wanted to listen to during the day, I got to the point where I decided that I couldn't take it any more and thought I could at least do better.... Now I know "it ain't as easy" as it looks.

One of the big things I'm working on is getting rid of my "reading" voice and making it a "conversational" voice that doesn't put one to sleep.... Hence the challenge.
