Scott, Louis:
This is pretty neat. Kudoes to Sid for touching it all off.
Scott, I must say that you took what could be a dry, dusty old thing and breathed life into it. No doubt that's what the customer wanted, and you deliver. That ain't easy, man. You roll; which isn't surprising from Number 112 on my list of heroes. You make education sound friendly, warm, fuzzy, and all things nice. If Miss Birch had done that in my Grade 10, I probably wouldn't have accidentally torched the Science lab.
Lou, that was ethereal. In a hundred years, I couldn't have done it that way. Was the production yours, or did they play and tweak your audio? Fascinating....
Thanks to you both for putting it out there; I'm loving this....

Sid, I love Skin! I'm a big Allan Sherman fan. My dad turned me onto Sherman decades ago. Skin was one of my favorites, along with Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh!. Hysterical guy. (Did I spell that right? Haven't been to bed yet.) I think I still have Sherman's LP for Allan In Wonderland.
Well nothing I've gotten here has gone national or even public. It's all proprietary, though I think one was a podcast and is posted somewhere. Since I don't want to bore you with voice prompts, I'll instead let you have a laugh at the early version of a local TV spot I got from V123. The script was way too long for :30 but the client wanted to hear it. The final cut was with the more reasonable revised script and yielded a second fee for me. Not bad. Anyway, here it goes. Keep in mind this is not what they went with! Oh, it's in Spanish. The client was a terrific and friendly guy at Project Rooster. He produced the spot.

HA! Nikki - that's hilarious. I love it when clients try to jam 45 seconds of copy into 29.5 seconds of finished audio. Here's one in the same style - FAST. I also convinced the client it was ridiculous - and we cut some out and extended the time some as well. I was for an infomercial that runs in the U.K. I ended up doing 4 more projects for him.

Never say never Robert!
Here is how you can do it too in less than 100 years. It will take about 48 to 100 hours. Some of you more or less depending on technique. Just remember If you rush: it won’t sound all that good when flipping into characters like the exorcist Movie. "Why you do this to me Dimi." Ok so here we go:
Each sound is (carefully) rigged and place for your pleasure according to previous episodes. Sooo one basically has to pick up where they left off. For example: when you’re listening in preproduction bear in mind it’s a continuation of a previous episode … If you click on the image with tracks below you can hear the final of production of episode 5. If you don’t get the audition from V123 just use the demo as a commercial in your podcast.
I would have loaded sample audio here to the forum but I got an error again telling me file was empty, so had to do some re:routing. So just click on image.
Once all the sound is laid out for an episode I use this program called synery 3.0 it’s about 5 Euros = $7.00/ It allows you to select (hot keys) which will control/over~ride I-tunes when using any program on your computer. So if you’re using Microsoft Word to write the script while listening to it you can press (option-spacebar) to pause and stop everything or (option ~) to rewind so all is in queue when typing annnnnd. You can use it while recording in Soundtrack Pro when you’re in the studio recording to keep your characters in queue. So while Soundtrack is recording your voice you can hear the script playing from I-tunes and know when it’s time to read all your lines.
Just allow yourself 10 seconds so you can run to the mic and put the headphones on.
Press Play
Lou

Thanks Nikki. The "Skin" vocal was a fun project. I must admit that, even I pride myslef on knowing all the old tunes, I had to do a search on Allen Sherman to remember who he was! Then it was obvious of course. I was told the toy will be available next Halloween. Your spanish read was excellent by the way as well as your Voice123 site demos. Keep up the good work! Sid

Thank you, Sid. How nice of you to go to my member page and play my demos -- especially since I felt obliged to check out your demos, and had the pleasure of listening not only to your VO demos but also the jingles you composed. It's pretty neat that you can do that.
I actually bought Finale 2006 in the hope of creating more of my production music, but other than some fanfare intros and a couple flash SFX, I've done little with it. Shameful waste of money. Of course, my twin sister keeps telling me it's not wasted as long as we're having fun with it. She's very wise.
