Computer learning people still not quit satisfied with version 3 and waiting to hear back on my latest version 4

At this point I'm going to ask for more money. If they want me to do it again.

If anyone wants to add accompaniment and bid a price on it I will send it to them. Very Happy

Yo Deby. As a seasoned jingle writer & producer allow me to give you my critique of your vocal.

1. Good idea, Good recording, Catchy "cute" vocal.
2. You "doubled" your vocal but it's just not tight enough. The second vocal must match the first perfectly.
3. The word "Learning" isn't very clear.
4. The word "Com" didn't sound like it had an M in it at the end.

I don't know if the client is picking up on the same details but it's very possible if they know what they are doing in the first place.

I've heard a few of your harmonies and you might consider harmonizing on the "Dot Com" for a nice little finish. If this was for my company these are the things I would point out.

Sid....Thanks so much. Actually I made 2 versions with different harmonies on each and the client said that they didn't like either and asked for it without harmonies. They said that it sounded too "folksy" and they wanted it to sound "sweeter".

Then they said that they really didn't even like the melody that they had originally given to me, and asked me to change it. I came up with 2 original melodies and sang them on the phone. They liked this one the best, but asked if I could sing it higher. So I did right there on the phone, she said she liked that. I then recorded it and sent it to her and she said it sounded too "Munchin like". I had to agree with her on that one. So I dropped it to the key that it's in now.

I think you did a fine job on both of those although the first one could be a little "tighter". It all boils down to what they want. Good job!

yeah Sid I agree. I need an auto align plug in!!! Although the more I practice the better I get at matching myself. I've already paid $100 in engineering cost on a jingle that only pays $150! Hopefully I can please them without going into negative numbers. I asked if it would be a local or national spot. They sent me an email back, but failed to answer that question. Good thing I still have my massage gig to pay the bills.

LOL...well you either laugh or cry I chose to laugh.

I really think that without harmonies, it needs accompaniment. If I pay someone $50 for the accompaniment though. I will have succeeded in selling my first jingle and making no profit what so ever. What is a fair price for accompaniment?????? keine ahnung

No Deby.....no "auto align plug in". Use your ears....use your judgement. LISTEN. Too many people look at all this new technology, computer effects, mic placement, mic this-&-that, effects. Use your EARS my friend. Great mics and wonderful technology will NOT make up for a poor performance. Trust an "Old Salty" and use your TALENT..............not the computer.

Another example of the problems with this system...there are pro jingle singers on this board who should have gotten this invitation. You obviously are not. It is the problem with the SYSTEM here...voice seekers should be given ONLY to those who are jingle singers when they need a jingle...duh...

Did you get up on the wrong side of the mic, Bettye? Compare your reaction to the industrious Deby (above) to that of another jingle pro (earlier; same thread):
"Yo Deby. As a seasoned jingle writer & producer allow me to give you my critique of your vocal.

You: Gracious! A mere youngster trying to take jobs from me! Without even paying for a workshop! The nerve!

This thread is an excellent example of how to turn negatives from the jaded seasoned pros into positives.

Bettye is wrong on so many levels that what she IS right about is being masked. Bettye does not understand the dynamics of the new market nor the positive useful underpinnings of this board. At one time, I didn't either.

Maxine did an excellent job of challenging and educating without telling her to "pound sand" or make accusations about her motives.

Robert, too - direct, peaceful enlightenment. As always.

My hope is that Bettye learns and grows into an understanding here so we can actually benefit from her knowledge and experience.

We need all the pros we can get on this board.
