Oh oh oh... I FOUND the Lexus lead buried in my inbox. (It was so full... I really don't like this system where you have all these old leads pile up.) Well... Scott they said "natural" and this is NOT an ad. So... here's what I did (you should like this, it might take me out of the running...) I gave them take one as the primary and take two as the related demo and then put in the notes to also listen to the related demo for a different take.

We'll see what happens.

Can't believe I couldn't find it before but with my eye sight and 123's lousy clutter and fonts, it's tough on me.

That's the truth by the way, I'm not playing any "woe is me" games.

Oh... and yes... Ole' Ed went out in full glory as do all the auds you hear on here from me. I calls'em as I sees'em and send'em out. Maybe that's good for all the rest of you.

Thanks guys!

Lee... good voices on those two but do you know that you have a technical issue. There's a flangy noise in your recordings. I keep thinking how good they'd sound without that noise in the background.

Colin -- I think that noise is, ironically, being introduced when I try to digitally remove any ambient room noise that may be present in my recordings. I may just skip that step in the processing from now on.

If you wouldn't mind giving me your professional opinion, could you tell me if either or both of these is better, and which of the three is technically the best?

Lee... the first one is hissy and the second one flangy. What's your interface?

Oh... and hey... GO BUCKS...

Colin,
I LOL'd at your equine read--for all the right reasons, I think. It was GREAT! Loved it, though it sounded like your "famous Mr. Ed" morphed into Spectacular Bid with those closing SFX hardy har... Great job

Well it's half time and the boys need a break. Losing to Washington 7-3. Give us some karma.

Thanks for the Ed compliment David. I apreciate it. I used to watch Mr. Ed as a kid religiously. They just needed to include the name "Wilbur" in there somewhere so I could warble on it.

Didn't try to replicate Wilbur's old steed - just another doltish nag. (I do "doltish" very, very well).Confused

Everybody else's horsey auditions make for one fine herd. Wouldn't want to depend on any of them for financial advice, though. Very Happy

This is part of one audition I did today... acording to the script I was supposed to be professional, sophisticated, and able to inflect with ease to make it interesting. It also wanted passion for the subject and I'm not sure that came through. I look forward to knowing what this community thinks.

Thank You!!!

My entire audio setup is as follows: RE-20 mic to an ART TubeMP pre-am to an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro external sound board to a Dell Dimension 9100 computer running Cool Edit 2000.

Of those two sample audio cuts, I cranked the input level up slightly from where I had it previously and did not process sample 1 in any way. I used the same digital noise filter I used previously to strip out room noise from sample #2 (the only difference being the pre-processing level was a bit higher than before).

I've always loved that song Hang on Sloopy.

Did any of you girls submit the 5 year old back girl funeral script? It was the most interesting script I've seen in a long time and I could sound black and I could sound like I was 5..... Crying or Very sad I couldn't do it at the same time.

Anyway here's a bank commercial that has weird pauses built into the script

Jarred. You had everything except the passion. I mean this started in freaking CHINA, and they used everything from rice to wheat to potatoes?!!! This is fascinating stuff. I myself don't drink Vodka, but I use aroma therapy oils. I have sometimes wondered just how many lavendar plants it would take to make 20 drops of lavendar oil. My ex used to try to make his own beer. He admitted his own beer sucked, by the way, but the point is your listeners will have more excitement than you did. Great voice though, very soothing, perhaps too soothing. You just need to find that passion.

ok I'm now heading to the grocery store to buy some red wine. Very Happy

Kinda late on this one, I know, but here in CA, it's still the week ending the 16th....

I thought this one was interesting, 'cause you just can't get the voice of the national ads out of your head while trying to do your own thing...
