I've sent several emails to 123 staffers...I tend to rise early in mornings only to find when I check email, VOICE 123 being among the emails I check, that several auditions each morning are "closed" and the time on those shows they were sent to me 3 a.m., 3:30 a.m., etc. This is very frustrating. I have said in emails to the staff that I believe if an audition is sent out in the middle of the night the voice talent then should have the opportunity to repond to it without it being closed if the talent does so in the early daytime hours. That seems only "courteous." These are so plentiful...usually three or more each a.m., that it's getting annoying. Feedback? Do you find this happening to you?

That kind of thing happens to me every day.

Perhaps they could add some kind of category to our profile that would allow up to define our home base and could use it to figure our time zones and a reasonable time for posting to our inbox. Oh, wait, my profile already says I live in OHIO, shouldn't that be a clue that I'm working Eastern time?

Of course, complaining here does no good. The Voice123 folks packed up their toys and left this forum, and we all know what customer service does for us....nuttin'.

By the time I get the early-morning leads here in Toronto, Canada, it's already the day after tomorrow. So, I even know who got the gig! Smile

The answer was, as some of you here have said, that they are worldwide and thus leads are sent out 24/7 with no regard for time zones of talent. Someone here suggested that giving our time zone would be helpful in sending leads appropriately, but alas, that's not done. So we just miss out and I guess 123 is an "equal opportunity miss-out" board worldwide...keep on keepin on. I'm also finding the continuation of "to be determined" pricing altho 123 assures us they are trying to solve this problem somehow and make people say what the price ranges are for jobs. That would certainly be a big step forward so let's hope that happens.

This is one of those opportunities where it may be necessary to be clear, candid - succinct even.

The business-model of V-123 is designed to serve only Seekers. All the evidence demonstrates the people who are driving this model don't give a char-broiled rat's ass about Talent.

Talent is there to pay the freight... and accept what they are supplied.

To be sure, a few of the formerly-ornery have picked up a couple of gigs through SmartCast and are now somewhat assuaged from their former, vitriolic rants.

For the majority, however, the status quo that was prevalent at the projectile-vomiting launch of this abomination of a program persists to this day - 2 months later.

I trust I'll be excused if I don't have a trouser-accident at the implementation of a 1-hour delay in closing, particularly when I wake up to greyed-out leads and leads that already have 50+ auditions.

Has the ratings-system been disconnected from SmartCrack yet? If there is a technical problem with the disengagement, please summon either an expert or a guy with a bigger hammer. And do so... immediately. If you have to, tell him he has a marvelous voice and should be doing V/O. Then, sign him up and give him his fees in return for swinging that 4-pounder.

As to the 3:30 AM leads being there to serve an international pool of Talent: Bite me! And when you've had a good juicy nosh on my well-seasoned butt, guide me to an organization that serves its customers within their own time-zones. These are the Customers - the ones picking up the tab - all of it. Smile

I finally gave up my membership to V123 because of such nonsense. I woke up at 6:30, checked e-mail. Had four leads that had been delivered between four and four-thirty. All were already closed. What's the point. So I wrote and delivered a scathing e-mail to the Vpeople, and demanded my promised refund. Haven't gotten it yet, shouldn't be too surprised. 123 is no interested in customer service. Only deflecting critism back to the one who complains. BTW, each of the four spots I was unable to respond to had been part of an e-mail a day earlier as spots I was qualified for. After the demise of the Keyword concept, I couldn't unstand why they'd withhold the promised leads.

Now I just visit read and enjoy the company of the bloggers....

Take care

The majority of the 123 leads I get anymore come in the middle of the night. It's all automatic anymore, isn't it, controlled by the brilliant Smartcast? To me, it's like the 123 kids look at the right way to do something, then they do the opposite. (There's got to be some sort of theory named for that. If not, how about the bass-ackwards theory, or the clown theory.)

I just got another 2 rating for some training thing I made the mistake of demoing for. I don't care anymore. I'm just waiting for the ol' subscription to run out.

My lead-box has been dry of anything worthwhile the last few days - other than the greyed-out insults and the 50-dollar "opportunities".

Maybe it's my SmartCast penalty for answering a few earlier in the week. Auditions, btw, most of which were never heard!

I understand FEMA is looking for people.

(And yes, sometimes "negative" is just a hell of a lot more fun!) Smile

Idea

Padma,

In order to gain full access to the leads, including information such as scripts deadlines and the ability to reply, you must be a paying premium member.

Standard members simply get "teased" with the leads and can park their 1 demo on their profile and hope for "Private" leads from Voice Seekers.

Kat
