Unreal.

I guess the odds were finally in my favor. Got both an e-mail and a voice message tonight that the client loved the read I gave them for the attached and want to use it as is. Problem is, they want a 'high quality' audio file of it which means I really need to re-do it since I only saved it at 96kbps. Still... I FINALLY landed one since the switch. And it's even a good paying one at that! Does this mean I'm not allowed to bitch any more? Rolling Eyes

I guess even blind squirrels find the occasional nut.

ADDED 8/24: Just spoke to the client and learned this spot will run this college football season on ESPN. Be looking/listening for it!

LOL Scott! Well, maybe so - but you're WELL above that example, anyway.

CONGRATULATIONS (again!) Seems like we've been saying that more often than not lately, wouldn't you say? You're sort-of hitting a very nice "upswing" here lately - and you deserve it. May you have many, many more success stories from here forward!!

David, thank you very much! You're too kind. I HAVE noticed for me in particular - and I suspect it's the same with many others here - it's a very cyclical business... feast or famine, drought or deluge. The past month had been sloooooooooooooooow for me and now all this. Not to mention picking up some regular, ongoing production work with two area radio stations. Now the plate's getting full, but I am NOT complaining! At least now I can afford to buy a bigger plate!

My honest wish is that all the talented folks I've come to know on this forum also reap similar rewards.

Yup, afraid so...Scott.
I believe that leaves only Ron T, Erik, Brad, David, Lee and I to kvetch about Smart-Castoff.

Well done. T'was in your zone and you clobbered it!

Scott, you are by far one of the most dedicated and gifted voice talents I know. Your success was, and is, inevitable. I am glad that the system finally came through for you but that was because you could not be ignored. Kudos.

I'm glad you finally got a job Scott. I have to say, how SmartCast began for you (with no leads for like a week, etc.) was very bizarre! I'm sure this is just the beginning of good things!!!

Scott, way to go. Knew it would happen sooner rather than later.

I'm just irritated that every lead that is tailor-made for me happens to be dead before I ever get the shot...and I'll discuss this on PM or another thread, as I don't want to hijack the kudos to Scott.

Really, proud of you, man. I've got two weeks to get mine to be able to continue after that.

Ya, as Robert said, gotta shut-up now Scott. But I have to admit I got my first one on the old smart-cast.

Nice job.

Craig

Awesome, Craig! My biggest two questions are:
- How on earth did it take so long?? and
- tell us more! Which gig did you land?

Congrats, bro'!
