Good Morning from the Carolina Piedmont. I am retired and still active. I've been in communications all my life, so I thought I'd install some very good equipment and do some voice-overs. I really thought Voice123 would be just the ticket in 2006, so I joined. After months of frustration and only two offers, I ignored all the emails and let it lapse. Then I heard about the 'new' format that would 'customize' all offers and send only the ones that fit my profile. WELL, so much for improvements! I get lots of offers, but they're mostly over 24-hours old by the time they reach Carolina. As a result, most of them are closed. The ones still open are so near the maximum, by the time I open my mic and record, they too are closed! I've discussed this with Customer Service and am reminded that I've been sent over 100 offers..???, True, but the doggone things are very late arriving. I'm keeping a log of time-of-posting and time-of-arrival in my mailbox. It doesn't look promising in my favor.
Anyone else find themselves in this same predicament, or is it just the "nature of the bizniss"?
If you have time, please visit my website and leave comments. You folks are the only ones who understand.

Jim- I can only begin to imagine the frustration you must feel. There are def. others on this message board who have been grumbling/griping about this very same issue (late announcements, overfull auditions etc.). Tho' I have not experienced this as an overwhelming problem (I check my e-maill every five minutes throughout the day) I do have some gripes of my own (mainly the "selectivity" feature and how it will discriminate against me just becaus eI answer a lot of leads).

I think as a whole we voicers are absolutley right in our assesment of this site when we say that this service has been designed to benefit the voice seekers as much as the voices themselves. It was a lofty ambition to capitilize off both crowds but somehow V123 has got us all by the short hairs.

Here's an idea... If you're really mad about this, why not set up a new on-line database for voice talent. Charge a fee to thsoe who wish to be featured and offer the site free to seekers. This way Jimmo's advertising firm can log on and find the voice they want for FREE. It'll be a leg up for them and you'll be the agent you never had with V123. Very Happy

I dont normally post..just go with the flow as best i can. But i agree. i check postings all day and have sent numerous postings watermarked of course for leads and after many months of being on here...i'm actually not impressed at all with voice123.com. the amount of money they charge compaired to TOS is harsh. I actually made my first couple months one fat gig for 1500 bucks that paid for all of TOS and they only charge 99 bucks. but i though i would give this one a shot and ...nutin at all.
I dont complain..i took a chance and still work it for what its worth till my membership is up then i will move on..just not worth the money and as well i am here in hollywood and most of the stuff i get in my email as soon as i log onto my pofile...its already outdated...doesnt make any sense. i get reads sometimes to audition for a female part or a male 60 or 50 when i am not even in that range so this sight really has some major bugs and downfalls that ..well...i guess you get what you pay for but i just work it as best i can and hope to at least..at least..make my money back and thats it.
Other then that..i do pretty good with my agents and clients the come to me via my own studio.
Keep the chin up and be well !

Hi Jim,

I can understand your frustration as well. Many times I check my email in the morning and find invitations for auditions that were sent in the wee hours of the morning. I do like the new feature that allows you an hour to submit your audition while holding that space open so you don't have to worry about it closing out before you get a chance to send in the audition.

I'm just hanging in there and hoping to just make my money back on the membership fee! Good luck to you too!

Christine
