Alexis,

I've had a sinus infection/sore throat this week. So, I tried several of the things listed. While many of the tea remedies were very soothing, the one thing that allowed my throat to stop hurting enough to go record was Cepacol. There's a numbing agent in it, and I certainly wouldn't use it all day, but to get through a 'must do' read, I thought it was effective. The cherry flavor also helped create enough saliva in my mouth to help avoid mouth noises.

For sinuses, my best treatment/defense after sinus surgery has been Simply Saline. My husband is a pilot and uses this to clear things out before he flies.

Sadly, for the infection, I think it may be time to 'bite the bullet' and get some antibiotics.

Great thread! Thank you!

Kim,
Do you also have a script for a steroidal nasal spray? (Flonaise, etc...) In my last bout with sinus infection that's what my doctor recommended to try and get rid of it w/o antibiotics. (don't want to build up a resistance) Clear out with the saline and then do 2 sprays. Do the spray twice a day.
