OK, Colin, but that Scandal song is about 25 years old now, man! And I think it's so funny -- I remember dancing that way! That video is a riot. I love the way she interacts with the band. And the words just fit the situation last night.
But, here's a REAL oldie, and you can even sing along!

Lance et al ... here it is, a soon to be hot and muggy saturday in the puckerbrush (great for the veggie garden), and i'm still in a Lou Reed kinda mood..
Yes, Reed's "Berlin" is a true "gem"; trashed as 'the most depressing' album ever made when it first came out 35 years ago, but now considered a classic.
Someone on YouTube created a very pointed video using the album's track "The Kids" along w/ Britney Spears:

I thought someone might enjoy these. It's a series I call "A Radio Man's Hits." RMH for short. They are hour long recordings of segued music, compressed and processed. Featuring different periods in pop music since the late 50's. They are suitable for burning to audio CD's should you so choose....

Thanks, Colin. Good stuff! So what if it's not Friday -- rules are made to be broken, right?
Now, I know this doesn't qualify as an oldie version, but another Everly Brothers song -- and ROBERT PLANT is an oldie, and he's touring with Alison Kraus (love her!) now. They are kickin' together.
So keeping with my goodbye theme ... Gone, Gone, Gone

It's been 40+ years since the release of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Paul McCartney only now gave "A Day In The Life" its live debut. It took place Sunday, 6/1, during his set at the Anfield Stadium in Liverpool.. And Yoko was there..

Al Green sure can sing. Beauty. Timeless Beatles, too.
I love long goodbyes -- I have so many memories of them. Bittersweet last kisses. Longing looks at places I'll never see again, that sort of thing. There's something so poetic about them. Here's a tranquil goodbye song. Good ol' S&G.
And a tribute to a great architect, Frank Lloyd Wright.

great tune... segue from Oz to IZ and Oz .. from a CD i sent to my dad for father's day ... Israel Kamakawiwo'ole .. If you've never listened to or heard of IZ , you are indeed missing a treasure.

2 from the greatest "lost" band of the 60s....
The Remains (aka Barry & the Remains)
They toured on the Beatles last tour, tore up clubs from Boston to New York, appeared on Sullivan, their 1 LP on Epic goes for hundreds (as do their 2 45s), but they broke up upon returning from the Beatles tour! The band that should have EXPLODED!
"Don't Look Back" - Their greatest IMO - ignore the dancing guy if you need to, I can't find a performance video of this tune.
"Diddy Wah Diddy" with nice intro from Soupy Sales! Not my favorite version of this tune (I love Beefheart's take on it - produced by none other than David Gates pre-Bread!!!) but their energy is undeniable.
Their album is back on CD with bonus tracks, plus their audition tape for Capitol is also out as "A Session With The Remains" - both can be had directly from Barry himself at www.theremains.com as well as the book he wrote about the Beatles 66 tour "Ticket to Ride".
Did I mention I LOVE this band??!! _________________ Chris Mezzolesta www.voiceguy1.com SaVoa #07010
